Hi

We are going on our first holiday to Mexico in May and I have been looking at maybe also taking the plunge and getting married whilst out there. We would do a legal ceremony at home first and then have a renewal of vows type ceremony in Mexico.. we are looking at booking catalonia riviera maya for our holiday anyway and I see they do a package for $399 which would suit us too.. Just one question though about after the ceremony for those that did it just the two of you.. Did you have a meal in one of the hotels normal restaurant or were you able to have an area sectioned off for just the two of you?!?! I like the idea of having something private for our wedding night!

Thanks

Missyl

I feel the same way as you however I'm not changing my day for anyone....if they dont like it then don't worry they will get over it once they accept thats whats gonna happen. I am not interested at all in a boring traditional church wedding and reception in some boring hall or something at all......so if it is just the two of us which it looks like thats the way its going to be then we will do that and have a reception for us when we get back. I feel weird about how I have no idea who is going to be our witnesses LOL and a few other things like I see these big huge wedding parties in alot of pics here and I wonder how ours will go? My guess is that we will have a beautiful romantic dinner after our wedding and then enjoy the night dancing and having a good time and leaving whenever we feel like it and not worrying that someone is upset because I havent spent enough time with these guests or these guests LOL .....arrrggghhhh

I love thinking about us getting married on the beach or close to it weather depending and in such a beautiful tropical setting without all the hastle of decorating some stinky hall LOL

Good luck

Hola Tara - congrats and good for you! It really IS about the 2 of you, when it comes down to it. I have enough drama in my own family and it's one of the reasons we are pretty much doing the same. Are you set on Dreams? I can't remember if they have pkgs. but I know Aventura Palace (Palace Resorts) has a free pkg and I believe they are in the same vicinity.

There's plenty more info from other posts but let me know if I can be of any help!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
