Dress from Ebay/China?

Recommended Posts

Me and my hubby were supposed to get married

in Greece in 2007. Pretty much everyone we

invited told us they wouldn't be able to

make it so we decided to postpone the

wedding.

I was so set on our wedding date that

I had a wedding planer, dress.etc. I ordered

my dress from China via Ebay. Now we've

made up our minds: We're having a

Mexico wedding in june 2010..

I really want a new dress.. the one

I have is fine. But its been in the closet

for over 2yrs and I just feel like a want a new one.

I think we paid 120 inc. shipping so it won't

feel like a waist of money if I don't use my

first one.

I think I'll order my new one from Ebay also, since

I had a great experience w/ the first one..

So anyways.. I just wanted to know if anyone else

on here got/will get their dress from china/ebay?

If so, what seller did you use? How was your experience?

Did you get bridesmaids dresses?

Here's me in my 1st dress..Unfortunately I can't remember the name

of the seller on Ebay.

Feel free to post pictures and links cheesy.gif

Ok thank you. I will check it out. Do you know what type of payments they accept?! If I could choose, I'd rather pay w/ paypal that a credit card.

I am getting married next May, and was leary about ordering a dress off of Ebay, made in China. BUT, it arrived last week and is gorgeous! I had NO problems whatsoever, and was really impressed and surprised about how fast it arrived! The Ebay vendor I used was called "Monday9" or something like that. I can definately relate to your concerns, but my experience turned out really well.

I took my own measurements, but I would prob. recommend that you see a seamstress or someone that knows how to do it properly. My dress (with slip) arrived 10 or 14 days after I ordered it and it looked way better than I thought it would, absolutely gorgeous.

But the more I thought about it I realized I didn't want a long train since we're getting married at a beach.etc. It's SUPER heavy w/ the slip and the train.. I'd be sweating like a pig in that dress.. So I want something different. I think I'll try on a couple of different dresses at Davids Bridal before ordering my next dress.. that way I can figure out what type of dress will look best on my body. I had a baby 6months ago, and I think we'll have another one by the time we get married.. So I'm pretty sure my measurements will be different too compared to when I ordered the first dress.

But YES I would recomend the dresses on Ebay/China.. and even if you don't like the first pick. You can order 2 more and you'd still pay less than you would've for just one dress from a bridal-shop.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
