Hi Everyone,

I noticed some of the April brides are putting together oot bags and menus, etc. I'm not getting married until June but want to make sure I'm not too far behind...

If you don't know how many people will actually come, are people estimating numbers in order to put the bags together and order products?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

We're not! lol To be honest, I bought bags and just grabbed a few extra. I kinda have an idea of how many I'm going to have. Alot of stuff I'm not getting until I have a concrete number, like the more expensive stuff. I gave a cut off of Jan 31 for my May wedding. If they are not booked by then, they're not getting a bag!

I'm getting married in August. I have a general idea of how many are coming. Plus I did 1 bag per couple or over 18. So some of them have children over 18 and they get their own bag. We are having 40 people so in the end I needed about 17 bags, so I bought 5 extras. That leaves me with extra for 10 people (couples) or 5 singles (18+). Definitely set a date by the time they need to let you know. If not you'll probably have some slackers. I set a date cause we have a selection of meals they can choose from and I have to let them know exactly what everyone wants. It also doesn't hurt to call and verify if people are coming or not a couple months ahead.

I'm having a small-ish ceremony a year from now, in October, but I've already purchased enough Canvas beach bags if every person/couple attends (20 bags purchased total). I found an excellent deal on some very well-made, cute looking beach totes, and I didn't want to take the chance of them not being available in next year.

Also, I am trying to taking advantage of end of season sales, and pre-xmas sales, as much as I can. Since it will be a beach wedding in Maui, and our wedding is in the Fall, I don't want to take the chance of not finding items here in California. At first, my fiance was thinkin' I'm crazy for purchasing items now, but, when I show him the deals I'm getting, he's learning to go with the flow. wink.gif

FYI, Pier 1 has a sale on soaps ($0.98 to $1.98 ) and candles right now.

That sounds so cute! Do you mind sharing where you found the canvas beach bags?! I'm still debating about what type of gifts to give and I've been thinking of trying to take advantage of sale stuff, just not as organized as you!

Thanks for any help!

Clara

I ordered samples of canvas totes from a few different places but they were all pretty thin material. These canvas totes are very thick and good sized. They are a tad bit more $$, but since my guests are paying their own way to go to Hawaii to see us get hitched, I didn't mind splurging just a tad. wink.gif

Two places had the the cheapest prices:

BuywholesaleTshirts.com

sunloversportswear.com

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
