How Did your FI ask for your hand?

My FI lost both of his parents and they are buried together. When we first started dating we talked about our families and I learned of his story. I also learned that he had never been to the grave site since either of their deaths. He had attended their funerals but had not been out to the grave. I would go out often and bring flowers throughout our relationship. I would never push him to go and figured that someday, on his own time, he would want to come along with me and one day he did. We then started going out together on special occasions. On the day after Mother's Day this year (2009) we decided to go out. When we got there my FI said that he has something he wanted to talk to me about in front of his parents. He then told me that i had changed his life and that he could never see his life without me. He also said that he really wished his parents could have met me. He then said that he wanted them to somehow be a part of what he wanted to talk to me about. He then asked me to marry him. It was very emotional and very touching. I had NO idea that he was going to ask me. We had never talked about it and had never even been into a jewellery store. It was an AMAZING surprise!
