Thanks msts82675...I was thinking the same thing. We are going to go basic and then a la carte items that we want. I am going to go into town and get the flowers to do the bouquets myself (I just want plain spider mums so paying $67 for that seems steep)

Do have over 30 attendee?  I emailed Lupita because it looks like we have more "yes" rsvp's than we originally expected, so now we may be over 30 and I asked Lupita if with the uograde to the Caribbean or symbolic package whether the cake is still only for 30 and she said it is.

Yes I have over 30 and I read we have to pay extra for the cake and sparkling wine (6 a person).  I'm curious do you or anyone else have a name for a flower shop in town?  I am interested in the idea of getting my own flowers but dont want to spend all my time searching the town for them.

MSTS -

I brought my cake topper "M" initial, but they did the rest.  I didnt want to pay extra for sugar flowers so they put strawberries on top to add some colour to the cake and more texture.  It turned out pretty good.

As for a private party - the only thing you can do on the resort that is private is the Disco and its rented out until 11pm and then they open it to the other guests.  One of the brides that had their wedding the day after mine rented it and they liked it.  But they had a really young group of ppl.  I had a very mixed age group so I brought everyone to Fusion for the fire show as I figured it would be a better event for them. Its something I went back and forth on but in the end I was happy we did Fusion.  Most of my guests had never seen a fire show before, so it was a nice experience for them to take home with them.  If you have a party group or ppl that like to dance, I would suggest the Disco bc it probably would be a lot of fun.

Hope that helps

I'm planning my wedding for March/April 2013, and am wondering if any brides have gone down with their children?  I will have a 4 1/2 and a 1 1/2 yr old by then, and am trying to figure out sleeping arrangement. It would be nice to have at least our wedding night to ourselves (kids bunk in w grandma or aunts/uncles?) but am unsure if this is even possible!

Can kids stay with relatives one night?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
