Hwilley218,  how are you getting your bags down there? and is it $3 a bag if they had them to the guest at check-in or onlky if delivered?

ColoradoBride11-

Great idea of adding tequila shots in the bags!

The cost for liquor is $10 per person per hour, so I assume that pays for the extra bartenders.

We're also going to hire a dj for $50/hour. Originally we were just going to use our i-pod, but Maria said it'd be $30 per hour to rent the speakers. For $20 extra we figured we'd use the dj.

Also - I was concerned that we'd have to rent or provide lighting on the beach, but she said that they provide that. Hope this helps!

Miconnelly -

I just place my order the other day and wont be getting it until sometime in mid July this year - but I think that is bc she knows I am in no rush and also bc she has quite a few orders on the go right now.  I ended up ordering a mango orane calla bouquet for myself, an ivory calla and orange hibiscus bouquet for my MOH, two small ivory cala bouquets for my FG's and then a white calla bout for the BM and two mango orange calla bouts fro my FI and son.  My MOH and FG's bouquets will be wrapped in a turquoise satin ribbon with an thin ivory ribbon overlay and my bouquet will be wrapped in an invory ribbon with a thin turquoise satin ribbon overlay.  In total not including shipping for the floramatique flowers, I was looking at around
$237.00 CAN.  However I am originally from Hamilton, Ontario and we are going down to Windsor, Onatrio in July for the engagement / pre-wedding reception put on by his mom. So Im sure one of my friends from the Hammer can pick up my flowers and bring them to Windsor for us.  Then we will just take them back to Calgary on the plane.  I'm really excited to get them...and her pictures of what my bouquest and what not would look like were a great start, so it should be intersting to see how she progresses with them.  I like that she sends picutres along the way so you can see what she has come up with and then make any alterations you may want.  As I have heard some other companies out there where they just ship and you have no clue what your getting prior to you receiving them in the mail.  I'm sure they must be abler to do something with blue flowers in your bouquet....you'll have to post pics once you have something from her.  Good luck!

I believe it's only $3 dollars if you have them delivered and free if they hand them out at reception (at least thats the way Maria made it sound).  I'm just planning on bringing all my OOT stuff and other wedding stuff in my checked luggage.  When I leave I'll probably have an empty bag...lol- but I guess shipping your stuff down there isn't reccommend since it might not show up on time (gets caught up in customs)

Are any of you guys doing a "basic" package?  Do we have to pay for the arch for the ceremony?  Maria emailed me that the Arch is $240, but i'm not sure if she meant to put flowers on it, or just the arch itself is that much money.  I would think the Arch was a "staple" in the package.

Also, is anyone doing thier own make-up?

I am doing the free package because we are doing a Mayan ceremony.  I am getting my make-up done at the resort, I have heard really good reviews about the spa there.

Do you have the 2011 sandos wedding guide?  If not I can email it to you it spells out pretty clearly what is included in each package.

Cheers

You'll probably buy souvenirs or things like that while you're down there so you'll be fortunate to have an extra bag wink.gif

I'm doing the basic symbolic package and paying for the arch seperately. It does cost another $240 which I think is silly because you're not keeping the damn thing LOL

I'm getting my hair and make up done at the salon in the resort... I'm horrible at doing my own makeup and I want it to stay on and not look shiny (hopefully) in the pictures. I may even pay one of the make up artists to come over before pictures at touch me up embarrest.gif

Hi KristaMarie!

While there is a level of comfort doing your own make-up you sometimes end up with the same look. You can buy different shades of shadow and products to withstand the heat but your application will be the same. This is your opportunity to look like you only better! When you use a professional, you get a more precise application and your professional can shade, highlight and prime your face as a painter would a blank canvas. In my experience I have found that my brides are comforted that they can relax and let the artist do their magic while she sits and relaxes and she also looks great in her photos. Your professional should be open to your ideas and concerns but always giving you facts about what is best for you. Most importantly, enjoy this time, it goes by sooo fast :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
