That's exciting Calee! We will be at the disco as I am going to pay for it for a few hours....we have a few kids coming:) So be sure to join us at 11pm when it opens to everyone!

Krista, that's too bad but hopefully you will have a fab time and can tell us all about it! And share pictures!

Jenn, I am talked to the ladies tomorrow sometime about flowers. I have no idea if I want real or silk, I just know I want some blue flowers in my bouquet!! Am figuring it all out this week asap! What about you?

Beach.rani-my pick for a photographer was Octavio Montes but he was booked on my day. He also has a partner now though so I am going with her (Natalia) and they are $600 for 3 hours, the cd and I forget how many prints but it is a much better deal than the resort!

Anyone willing to send pics, my e-mail is miconnelly@yahoo.ca

Thanks for the info. I think we're going to do the beach party after dinner as well. I contacted Maria and she said that the $550 fee would include the beach, tables and chairs. Was that the same for you? She said that decorations would be provided by us, so I'm trying to figure out what do do for that. Do you know if we need to provide lighting (candles/lanterns) or is there enough light from other sources? We're still debating if we'll get a dj or just have our own i-pod mix. Thanks again for the info!

What are you thinking of putting in the welcome bags? On the day that we arrive we plan on going into the market to buy some festive trinkets, but I also want to add items like advil/aloe... but  I'm trying to figure how much to bring down versus just buy in Mexico.

We were really pleased with the resort photographer and the resort flowers... and thought the costs all to be extremely reasonable.

Also, I need to figure out center pieces for the dinner.  Is there anywhere outside of the resort you would recommend??

Thanks so much ladies!!!

i agree Gabi and Fernanda are great to work with.. I have planning our party with them for the past several months... Fernanda is my planner w planner1..i had the pleasure of meeting Gabi at the great bridal expo here in nyc.. fernandas email is:     fparra@planner1events.com

i didnt know that the beach fee includes tables ...we are renting lounge furniture but i will ask Maria about that ...when i asked her about the lighting she said they would (the resort) take care of that... but planner1 does provide candles and centerpiece options at an affordable price..

beach.rani - I'm also using Octavio Montes. He's really got the best prices and the reviews are all fantastic for him. :)

I'm going to do the following for the welcome bags:

Advil/Pepto/Sunscreen/Mini Tequila Shot Bottles/Flip Flops and then a few trinkets like you said from in town. I'm sure we'll add more once we think of it, but we thought that would be fun!

mjeeward - Did Maria say if that included a bar tender etc as well?? That seems like a much better plan than the Disco even.

I'm using Octavio Montes as well- His prices really are great and his work seems pretty great too.  I'm not that concerned about the pictures as some might be though.  But he has had great reviews and I know a few brides from Sandos have used him, so it makes me feel a little more comfortable that he is familiar with the resort.  I'm doing simple welcome bags of mugs, welcome letter, crossword puzzle, magazines, waterproof tip/card carrier. My only concern is how to get them to the guests.  Maria said that we could have delivered to the rooms for $3 per bag or give them to the front desk to give out at check in.  I just don't know if I want to personally deliver them- maybe I should wait until I have more of the guests travel info (they're coming from all over the US)  and I can meet them when they check in...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
