Hi Everyone,  I am new to the forum and have been reading all the good advice and the confirmation I chose the right resort as well.  We are getting Married

at Sando's beach resort on September 23rd 2011  and am working with Destinationweddings.com .   I am excited and can't wait.

How long did it take all your guests to start confirming?   Do many of them wait until a month or two before or have they started booking the moment you

announced it?

I never thought about having to be legally divorced in Mexico if you did the legal package, that would be one bad trip.

We head to Sandos on December 16th, it is so close! We will be heading to the courthouse secretly next week. Are you guys getting a minister other then the one the resort books? Seems outrageous to pay like $250 bucks for them to be there less than 30 minutes and it not even be legal with papers involved. Was just wondering if there was a cheaper way to do it...

I am just wondering if anyone knows how much it costs for the papers and blood work to be done for a legal ceremony? I saw something that said $220 for bloodwork and I don't see anywhere how much it is for paperwork... It doesn't seem like that much more to me to do it legally and that way we won't have to feel wierd. Plus this is our first wedding and I don't ever want to get married in a courthouse even if it is just for the legal part. Thanks! We are heading down to Mexico in 36 days!

Hi,

I have this information from Maria about the legal paperwork....

To legalize your marriage certificate you will need a translation of it into English and also a Mexican  Apostille  with international approval. This service has an additional charge of 270USD. I can arrange it for you right after your ceremony. Papers will be sent to your place and it takes around 2 weeks to receive them. Shipping fees are included in the price.

Then you have the blood tests on top, which I believe what you said is USD220.

Hope this helps!

128 Days in counting!!!   I'm so excited!

My FI and I are getting married legally here (in the US) after the symbolic ceremony in mexico.   I just think it will be easier and cheaper to do it that way.  Plus it gives us something to look forward to when we get back....ya know how ya get the vacation blues when you get home!

I really want to have a first dance but I don't see paying 500+ for a reception, when food and drinks are free....does anyone have any suggestions?

i think under the HUT would be a fantstic idea.....

I am so TORN, we switch from SANDOS to secrets Maroma.......i did it because many guests were complaining about the rooms on the beach being outdated, but the Riveria rooms being nicer but toooo long of a walk!!

So i switched to a more expensive hotel.........the WC there is nothing like MARIA.......i miss talking with her, she seems to care. Plus SANDOS does have an awesome wedding package.............i am getting a quarter at Secrets what I was getting at SANDOS...

To top it off the number one person who complained the MOST, backed out of going.........serisoulsy????

But what done is done.................. :(.but I will  continue to stay on the forum, i like you girls and researched SANDOS to death so i have alot to offer....

Anyoone ever hear of AKIDEMI photography???

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
