Hey Ladies,

I am getting married at Sandos Playacar on January 7th 2011.  I am thinking of going with the Riviera Legal Package, because it is the only package that has the flowers down the side of the aisle and that is how I picture it to be :) I talked to Maria though and you can edit the packages if there are somethings you don't need. For instance I am doing the best package but one of my bridesmaids is a hair stylist, so I don't need my hair done. I also don't need a photographer because my fiance's aunt who is coming along is one, so Maria said we could take those things out of the package and make it cheaper. I don't want to pay for a DJ or a special spot of the resort so we're all just going to dance in the disco along with the public, it shouldnt be a big deal I hope! Most of my guests are looking forward to the drinks more than anything so I'm sure we will be drinking plenty of those and no matter what we do it will be fun :) Beck, I am very jealous your wedding is coming up faster than mine. I am getting so anxious!

Our wedding is going to be at 3:00pm, I kind of wanted a later one because of the sunset and everything. I think 3 will be a good time though because December and January have the shortest days. Will your photographer be doing some of your photos before the wedding as well? If she is I think you should be fine :) I just hope it doesnt get dark right after your wedding, so you have some time to get pictures with the sunset in the background.

thanks for your response. i didn't realize i could take things out of the package. i also want the flowers down the isle so i think i will go with that package too. i am using another photographer too. i booked octavio. im still not sure what we want to do for reception. we do not want to play the 49.00 per person for private dinner but we would like drinking and dancing somewhere. the disco doesnt open until 10 or 11pm, we could rent it for a couple hours before that or have our music played somewhere else. it is soooo hard to decide these things without being there!!

I did not know you could take things out of the package either! But if you do not want to go with that package it is either only $25 or $30 (I cannot remember the exact price Maria told me)  to add the flowers along the aisle to any package so I hope that helps.

I am getting married on December 18th and I looked up sunset on that day and it is 5:12pm so I moved my ceremony from 5 to 4:30 but I think it needs to be moved even sooner now! I was worried about heat but average temps are only in the 70's in December.

Where have you ladies chosen for your dinner?

I just got married ion September 2 nd. I would take the Sandos legal package and add a few things. If any of you still have time, I would get some silk flowers, they will last much longer then the real ones. Instead of going with the flowers on the side I would buy the rose pedals ( 5$ )and leave it on the sand since they have beautyful draps along the isle..

As for the photograher, you can check out my sessions TTD

www.pierre-wedding.com/blog

under Stephanie and Everett. His prices are reasonable and we were eally impressed with his work

We also treated ouself to a romantic dinner. If you are over 20 guests you have no choice to go with the Italian buffet. If you are less, I would go for the French restaurant.

As for the music, just let Maria know which songs and she will ask her DJ to put it on her I pod, the song quality is very good. Hope this helps :o)

Hi Girls,
I am getting married next saturday down at Sandos. I dont know if this will be a big deal for anyone else but we have about 35 people going so we were just planning on going to the italian buffet. Maria just sent me an email and said that managment is closing some of the restraunts and this included the italian buffet. If anyone has a wedding coming up I would check in with Maria and see what the deal is. We only had the options of the Mexican or Mediteranian. We could have also chosen the brazilian steak house but another wedding is using it that night so we are stuck with Mexican.....I hope it turns out ok.  Just thought I would let you guys know.

Thanks , I think we might just add the flowers on the side to the next best package (not the Riviera but the one under that, i think it called the caribbean) 30 bucks isn't bad . Aren't the silk flowers a lot more expensive? I do like the idea though of having my flowers for forever. I hope that none of the restaurants are closed when we are there! It is crazy that they have so many weddings there all the time!

Anyone else getting married the week of April 16, 2011? I am looking for the bride on the same day as me so maybe we can do some sharing?? My day is April 18 at 1pm.

Am trying to find a photographer as well.....so many suggestions! And silk flowers or not?! Seriously didn't we all decide to go away to make life easier?!

And what is this private cocktail party with dj, dance floor and on the beach? Can anyone fill me in?

Loving all the help from everyone!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
