Hi,

There will be about 40 people at our wedding, 30 staying on resort and 10 odd resort.  I was planning on doing a very simple program so that the people staying off resort would know where to go for the dinner, etc since we are just planning to eat at the Italian Buffet and then renting out the Disco.

Another Q: Because we are not have a formal dinner and more of just a party reception after, we are struggling with where to have our guest book.  We are also not asking for presentation but think people may still want to give us a card.  Is anyone doing a basket of some sort.  ANy cool ideas for a destination guest book?

Also, we are planning on doing a shot of tequila with everyone instead of a champagne toast and then people can keep the shot glass.  Anyone know a good supplier for stuff like that (I am from Canada)?

Thanks Ladies

Lindsay

We are using Octavio Montes for photography. 3 hours of shooting and 90 prints, and a CD with all the pictures for $650. Not nervous about whether he can go since the wedding coordinator confirmed it was fine, and because hes done several weddings there.

As for the dinner, I am doing place cards, you just give them to Maria at your meeting before hand with a seating chart and she will put them where they need to go.

For my guest book, I'm buying seashells (online they are about $50 for a ton of them) and they are bit and soft on top so people can sign them, I'm going to use them in a picture frame to put around a picutre of my FH and I.

We had a mock wedding certificate made by up, that we signed along with our witnesses and then had everyone attending the wedding sign on the witness area.

That way everyone signed but it was just a one page sheet.  Our plan is to frame it with our wedding photo.

I can send a picture if you would like, just let me know.

We're using Octavio as well, the same package and everything.  After reading the reviews I just couldn't justify using the resort photographer, and really you can't beat Octavio's prices.

Cute ideas ladies! I like the idea of the seashells and mock wedding certificate for a guestbook!

Yes, Maria said outside photographers are not forbidden or any big deal, just have to pay the $77 day pass.

Any of you ladies getting married soon? I heard the main pool  is closing in the next two weeks- kind of a bummer!

I am not sure what is going on with the main pool. Sandos is my friend on facebook and alot of people were commenting about it closing in the next few weeks so wondering if any of you knew what was going on. Wasn't sure if it was weather or remodeling..... Has anyone been during the winter time and the main pool was closed?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
