I don't know who the photographer is, but from the reviews s/he is not that great.  I also emailed Maria (WC at Sandos) for a website to look at the resort photos and the link didn't work.  I found that Octavio's prices were quite reasonable and the reviews were all positive.  I also liked his work on his website.  We do have to pay $77 for him to come into the resort and we booked 3 hours at $650.00.  We are getting 90 pictures printed and the entire CD of all the photos.  Our wedding is at 4PM, so we booked him from 3-6 pm.

KristaMarie when are you getting married?

Yeah, his prices are way better than Sandos! Even if I have to pay the xtra $77, which I'm going to see if their waive.  I don't get that.  i'm having 50 + guest stay there and they want to chage me for some to come take pics for 3 hours?!  Kinda ridiculous...lol.

Here is the website, the link she sent me was broken too.

Hey girls....I'm finally getting on here after my July 23rd wedding at Sandos Playacar.  I'm working on my full review and plan to have it up before the end of the day.  All I can say is if I had to do it all over again, I would in a heartbeat have my wedding at Sandos over and over!!!

Take a look at my slideshow from La Luna in my signature!!

Did you go to the disco when you went to visit?  Everyone else says it smells like cat pee...lol.

and does the $280, include booze?

How many guests are you having?

I can tell you that I was at Sandos for 13 days and in the disco most of those nights.  I never once smelled cat pee and I'm not a big cat fan, so I think I can smell cats from a mile away.  Plus my husband is highly allergic to cats and he didn't smell it either.  The disco was awesome, honestly.  They played great music and served great drinks....what more can you ask for ( :  The picture of the disco I've seen on early posts really doesn't do it justice.  They add ambiance with cool lighting and the occasional smoke.  We didn't book the disco for our reception because I was scared off from reading all the posts, but knowing now what I know.....I'd book the disco in a heartbeat.

Hi Tracy!  You look so happy in your wedding pictures, and honestly thatâ€s what its all about!

I'm not doing a private reception, after dinner Iâ€m thinking we will just party the night away.  From your experience, is that a good idea?  Or should we do the private reception?  It's just us paying for the wedding so we were trying to keep the cost down.

You also did a cocktail hour, was this while you got your pictures taken?  Or did your guests go to the bar?

Hi tad515:  could you let me know how much all your costs were for the different things and what was included in your wedding package?  Also, where did you get your hair done and if it was at the resort, did you book before your trip or when you arrived?  Thanks for your review, it's always good to hear positive reviews.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
