I would be so upset with your friend for putting you in this situation!!!

And I agree with Michelle.. why should Erik have to pay more $$ just because 2 ppl want to hook up?!?!?

The realistic and more reasonable part of me though.. agrees with the other suggestions. Either all three should split the cost someway or maybe you can suppliment part of Erik's cost as payment for the photography.

Either way, good luck!!!! Your friend really needs to hear how much this is stressing you out and how this is not the right thing to do!!

The problem is, my niece's father (my BIL) doesn't want to go to the wedding - various excuses, depending who you listen to. Now, my sister wants to room with me. That would leave my niece out in the cold, except now her brother (who is in Iraq) wasn't going to go and now he is, so she is going to share a room with him. I looked into the 3 in a room but the room was 2 double beds and I'm not paying all that money to share a room AND a double bed besides.
I want to pay my down payment and my sister is still hemming and hawing about whether her husband is going to go or not. If that happens, then I'm left out in the cold. My niece said I can bring a friend, but I don't want to bring someone to my niece's wedding that she doesn't know. I'm thinking about getting my own room, but it's about $250 more. I really don't want to share a room with my sister because I want to party with my niece and have a good time. My sister is the type that gets up at 6 a.m. and wants everyone to go for a walk on the beach.
Pay the extra cash and then she can do what she likes and you can party till the cows come home lol it'll be worth the extra cash not to have to get up at 6am!! I mean christ thats the middle of the night when you're on hols lol

Well...the latest & greatest is that Eric is not answering my calls or emails. I had my MOH (who is really tight with him) call & find out what the hell is going on! Well...he gat mad at her & told her was cancelling & that was it...end of discussion. So there is something definitely fishy going on!! I will have to contact Angela...maybe she knows what's going on!? I had a little cry on my way home from work & I feel a bit better now! It's just so frustrating...especially since he was supposed to be my photographer!!

Thanks kaiko!! It definitely sucks!! I thought things were going so smoothly!!

Now...I just received another email, this one from Chris saying he is cancelling. He didn't realize how much money it was going to cost!!! Come on...you should have figured this out BEFORE you booked!! Dumbass!

That is 3 people throwing away their deposits...$450 total! Geesh.

I'm to the point...I don't even care anymore. My biggest concern is getting a photographer with a zero budget for it!

Sorry you are going through all this crap! Stupid people! Maybe somehow you will find some extra money and be able to find someone like my photographer that will give you a discounted price.

Thanks Kat...people to suck!! Except for all my BDW friends!! I wish all of you could come to my wedding instead of my "real life" friends!! lol

I had a photographer lined up a couple months ago...she was offering a fantastic deal - $1500 for her & an asst...with no travel expenses & a pre-wedding shoot as well. But honestly with the house we just can't afford it. And FI is not willing to pay that much for "some pictures". He is so not into the wedding stuff. Just wants to go on vaca & get hitched in the process. Oh my....

people just suck. so sorry you're dealing with this crap so close to your wedding.

sounds like your close friend eric is just really pissed off that this happened to him, and can you blame him? he probably was really excited to go and it was ripped out from under him! if he's not answering calls, i'd send him a long email saying how sorry you are this happened and you would still really love for him to be there. let him know his friendship is important to you, and that you would love to try to work something out.

are you working with a travel agent? is there any way the other two "lost deposits" can just be applied to eric's room?? LOL probably not, but didn't you say it was like $400 worth of deposits on the room? that's a nice little chunk of the cost already paid! maybe he could stay fewer days?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
