We flew in our photographer, so we really had unlimited time. I think we did four hours. The first 45 minutes at the hotel. Then the travel time to get to Tulum, then the walking... oh the walking. Then we played at the beach for 3 hours. OMG was I starving when we were done!!!

It really doesn't ruin it. I bought a separate dress to Trash and I wish I would have used my wedding dress. My wedding dress was soooo dirty after wearing it on the wedding day and my TTD dress was sparkling clean. The ocean actually washes it!!!

I did a TTD the day after the wedding. It took about 1 hr. We just walked to the beach in front of our hotel. It was around 5ish when most people were getting ready to have dinner or dress for dinner. It was a lot of fun. I thought my dress was going to be ruin but the water actually cleaned it from the beach wedding the night before. I didnt have any makeup on since I was about to be dunked in the ocean wink.gif nor did I do my hair. I was natural and again mostly because I was going to be completely wet from walking in the ocean. We had a blast and one word to your groom...my dress weight was a lot heavier than it was going in dry. hahaha A wave actually took us out but it made for some fun pics. We love those pics of the TTD session. Very fun!!!

Happy Wedding...........

Well, hearing you guys say that makes me want to do it A LOT more. I guess my worry is I wanted to wear my dress to my recpetion which is going to be after our honeymoon. We are having a small family only wedding, going on our honeymoon, and then coming home and having a huge reception for all of our friends that couldn't come with us. I just don't want it to be ruined...but I guess if you have it dry cleaned it should be okay. Oh well.....guess I have plenty of time to decide what I'm going to do.

Thanks!

i put on make up, but not much, i was expecting to get totally wet and figured i might as well not put it on in the first place. in the end we didn't get totally wet because the waves were to big to actully swim. so i wish i would have put more on!

i did blow dry and curl my hair a bit. but again, nothing crazy because i knew it would get wet anyway

You can always buy a used dresss or a cheap one to Trash if you are worried about it!! My wedding dress was poofy and it would have wieghed a TON wet. So I got a slimmer one layered dress to Trash, even that was really heavy.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
