I should be giving gifts to the not-invited?!

Recommended Posts

Thanks everyone! I told them tonight that I appreciate their 'ideas' but no thanks. Mom didn't want to let it go until I had to just tell her that its literally just stupid. We agreed that we will still do a picture announcement and if they want anything more extravagant than what I want, they pay the difference!

Thanks for reasurring me! I knew somewhere deep inside that I am not crazy hehe :)

first of all, call me a selfish brat, but YOU are the one who should be receiving gifts for your wedding! these people are insane!

like the other girls have said, a wedding announcement with a photo is appropriate, and if you decide you're definitely doing an AHR, a wedding favor would suffice. it would be lovely if it were something that reflected your destination ... just an idea! i would be insulted if i got some stupid personalized candle in the mail but no invite! especially since i think wedding favors in general are usually a waste ... no one keeps them unless they are something practical!

I have never, ever heard of such a thing!

I think I would feel strange if my friends or family eloped and sent ME a gift!

You are supposed to be recieving gifts!!!

If YOU WANT to send a pic announcment; thats very nice. If you WANT to do favors at the AHR, then that is also nice.

You are under to obligation though...

Sorry if Im being to blunt.. but I am honestly shocked that anyone would even suggest that!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
