I'm so glad things finally worked out for you!!! You are a lot better than me because I would have been calling every minute until I got some definitive answers... Hats off to you for remaining so calm!!! I sent an e-mail a couple weeks ago prior to knowing the deal w/ Charmaine leaving but never got a response. Maybe I should try re-sending it... Can't wait to hear and see how everything turns out :)

Hi Christina

Thank you.

I got engaged end of Aug. 2008, and I planed this in a little more then 2 mnth, during which I have had 3 wedding coordinators and a lot of miscommunication/changes to pricing & packages.smile105.gif

You have a lot of time on your hands. Possibly the reason that they are not answering quickly is that your wedding is a year & the new wedding coordinator started last Tuesday.

I know they have 7 weddings this month, one of which is on the same day with me. I got my last two replies within 24 hours, before it took from 2 – 10 days. I just wanted to confirm the important stuff:

1.Documents, so they can have paper work done

2.My bouquet, so I know what I am getting

3.Centerpieces, so I donâ€t have to worry about the cost, as it is very expensive, I am bringing my own.

I think everything else could be sorted once I am there.

I have PDF for centerpieces & wedding bouquets, I can send them to you if you want.

Best of luck.msnwink.gif

I'm sorry to hear about all your frustrations!! I have been e-mailing Charmaine for awhile and finally received a message from Jacynthia Jackson. She says she is the new W.C. She e-mailed me back within 2 weeks and since then I haven't received any answers. I know she is busy but all of us are playing LOTS if money for their help, the least they could do is send a quick response. I have some time before my wedding but I still want answers. Can anyone help? I want to know if we have to choose our wedding location prior to arriving in Jamaica. Also, I am getting married at 3pm, Charmaine said we can choose when to have the reception. Has anyone else done that? We are having a private reception and I want to be able to choose which time I want the reception to be. Does anyone have any information on this??

Hi GPJ brides, it seems that we are all experiencing the same crap with the resort. Well my TA had enough and ripped them a new a@*hole rant.gif yesterday. Hopefully this will help all of us in getting better responses etc. I have spoken with Jascynthia a couple times and I do think that she will be better than the WC in the past (hopefully).

I think we all need to be persistent with these people, remember nice gals finish last - be strong this is your day!!!

By the way the resort is aware that there is a blog (us) that is not painting the resort in a very nice light (words from my TA).

I would be interested in seeing the Arrangement pdf if someone would send it to me.

Stay positive ladies - united we stand grouphug.gif

Maybe it would be a good idea to get Jascynthia on the forum. That way we'd get answers from her more expediently I have been waiting patiently for an e-mail response for weeks now. This would be the thrid time that I sent the same questions with no response. Does anyone have David Canso the hotel managers e-mail address?

Hello GP Brides

I can't seem to find the updated price lists and don't want to post the ones I have because everything else has doubled to tripled in price since I was first quoted in July. We saw the pics from the very first wedding at the GP Jamaica when we did a site visit. I must say I was not impressed, but that is my opinion. We have decided to bring our own photographer, it is an extra cost however well worth it. I guess it depends on how important the pics are to you and if you want some peace of mind. The website for the GP photographers is True Colors Photo.com and their email address is truecolorsja@yahoo.com. Hopefully they can help you with the pricing.

On another note......Does anyone know if they are giving courtesy upgrades to the honeymoon suites for the bride & groomhuh.gif How did everyone book their stay?

I got a reply about the upgrades to the honeymoon suites. I assumed that you'd get upgraded automatically if you were getting married, but apparently you have to book at lease a suite to get upgraded to a honeymoon suite and this is only based on availability when you check-in.

Msg from Jascynthia: "NO, UPGRADES ARE BASED ENTIRELY ON AVAILABILITY WHEN YOU ARRIVE AND IS ONLY GIVEN TO THE NEXT CATEGORY… SO IF YOU BOOKED A SUITE AND UPGRADES ARE AVAILABLE WHEN YOU ARRIVE, YOU WILL BE UPGRADED TO THE HONEYMOON BUNGALOW. BUT IF YOU BOOKED A JUNIOR SUITE, ANY AVAILABLE UPGRADE WOULD BE TO A SUITE (NEXT CATEGORY) IN THIS CASE YOU WOULD NEED TO PAY THE ADDITIONAL COST IF YOU WISH TO BE IN THE HONEYMOON BUNGALOW…..

Definately too bad because we can't afford a suite on the possibility of an upgrade!!

Nickled and Dimefully yours,

nbro

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
