Grand Palladium NOT A BRIDEZILLA

Hi girls

I am getting married in 2 weeks. And I have send two e-mails, more then 2 weeks ago, to confirm a few things. First it was Charmaine, who had very little or no communication what so ever, I then called and found out that they have changed coordinator, well I though luck must be on my side- NOT SO FAST!

The second coordinator – Mina, promised to answer my e-mail- no e-mail for 9 days!

SO I called today and spoke with yet another coordinator and she had no Fing clue who I am.

I cannot stress enough to you that I am not a bridezilla, in fact my friends call me hippie, due to very ‘letâ€s all get a long†attitude.

I donâ€t want to call & argue with the resort, I know that it will totally ruin my mood.

But I donâ€t know what to do anymore.

I have only 12 ppl coming with me, itâ€s not a lot I know, but itâ€s not a ground to ignore my wedding.

When I spoke to Mina, she couldnâ€t find my paperwork, so I faxed it again. I donâ€t even know at this moment that they have gotten my papers.

And then I get on this site and find out that some of the girls that getting married in 2010 get e-mails & I donâ€t, I got different quotes for centerpieces & chair covers that some of you GP brides.

Once again not a bridezilla & not a negative person, but imagine your wedding is in 2 weeks and you donâ€t even know that they have the paperwork in order.

OMG...I would be going bizerk!!! I am a very detail oriented person & not knowing details would be killing me!!

Have you confirmed your wedding day & time? Can you get that much out of them?? That is the important thing. Other than that (if you're easy going - which I am not!) then the rest doesn't really matter. You can bring your original documents with you - you have to anyway. And any other details won't affect whether you can get married or not. Do you have a TA?? Mine is taking care of dealing with the resort & WC for me...yours may do the same.

Good Luck!!! I'm sure everything will work out! Just breathe!

Thank you

Yes I confirmed the date & time, it's at 5 p.m.

And there is a wedding at 3 before me, and when I called today to find out if the earlier wedding will be at the gazebo (the location that I want) she did not know

The sunset in Jamaica is at 5:30, which is the end of ceremony, therefore I need to take pictures before ceremony, I can't kick the other couple out, right?

I don't have a TA, I booked it on line.

And I can argue my way, but I don't want to argue.

I am a very relaxed person, but it's my wedding (hopefully my only), and there are things one need to know, before hand.

Besides planning your wedding is the fun part. cry.gif

Oh no...no crying...

Maybe one of the girls here on BDW have built up a repitoir (sp?) with the GP and can contact them on your behalf - they may be more responsive to someone they've had previous dealings with. Try contacting a couple of the girls here. I'm sure they would be more than happy to help!!

At this point I'm surprised that you are remaining so calm. I personally would be going crazy right now. I would keep on them and try to contact them by any means. Two weeks will come and go so fast. This is your wedding! Regardless of how many people you have coming or not someone should be contacting you to make sure everything is in order. I was having a problem with getting responses from Charmaine as well. I'm sorry that you are going through this and if you want to be a bridezilla you have every right.

I am also surprised you are staying so calm (you sound calm anyways)!! I would be in full blown PANIC mode!! Here is a suggestion....

Try the Palladium Addicts site.

Welcome to the Palladium Addict Forum • Index page

Maybe you could pm one of the moderators from that site and they might be able to help. I know they have been able to help people in the past with getting in touch with the resort. At the very least, post your concerns on there. Hopefully someone can help you get in touch with them!

I hope you get some answers soon!!

Oh no! Caroline has said that Charmaine left & Mina is the assistant & they are in the process of hiring another coordinator. You should definitely call and if you don't get the answers you need, tell the manager what's going on too. I'm sure they don't want a mad bride on their hands.

Keep us posted!!!!

Thank you for your support!

You are wonderfull.

I wrote pissy/upset e-mail to manager today, as I was about to send it I decided to check my mailbox and.. OH MIRACLE!

I got a reply.

So the new wedding coordinator is Jaquilene (I hope I spelled it right), Mina is a group coordinator & was covering for a while.

She confirmed everything & sent prices for centerpieces.

I could be very happy, if I wasn't still feeling a bit upset over the whole thing.

Thanks to all of you again.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
