I am so happy and overjoyed to say that we have a new President Barack Obama!

I called my MIL and we both cried over the phone.

I will say that I thought McCain's speech was great and he bowed out very gracefully!

    YES WE DID!!!!

I agree!!! I have a lot of respect for McCain with that speech! He is a great guy, but I think his campaign just got a bit too heated. Waiting to hear from Barack Obama!!!

I am awestruck at the moment. I don't think the full impact has set in yet.

I am so excited to be a part of history and to feel like my vote really counted. It makes me feel patriotic.

McCain was incredibly gracious in his concession speech and I gained a lot of respect for him. I hope that now he can go back to being McCain 2000 instead of McCain 2008. I like the old version much better.

I agree, I'm sitting here watching and thinking that I am part of something very powerful. Its amazing to watch. McCain's speech was very good. Very gracious and positive.

Although, senator Obama was not my first choice, he will be my next president and I will not only respect him but support him.

GOD bless him and his family.

I also wanted to say how sad it must be for him to have lost his grand mother the day before his greatest victory

HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!!!! I echo the comments about McCain...I disagree with his politics but I like him. Great speech.

My MIL called as soon as it was announced. When she was a child in Louisiana she had to be mindful of which water fountain she drank out of....and now this.

My faith in our nation has been renewed. It's a great time to be an American!!!

In the words of Sam Cooke... "It's been a long time coming, but I know a change is gonna come!" Congrats to Obama on making history!!! YES WE CAN!!!
