LOL- Carly, I have a split party family too. Well not my DH, but most of my aunts, uncles and grandparents are republican. I don't discuss politics with them because last time (2004) my uncle said college made me a liberal hippy. haha ok....

Myself and my FI as well as my FI family voted for Obama.... ditto to you ladies for the reasoning... my family is tried and true republicans and think the war is where we should be and dont want to spend another penny from their wealthy pocketbooks.... we always debate it... cant wait to see how it turns out.

I can't vote as I'm not a US citizen ! So glad I could vote here wink.gif I'm voting Obama - as of course for us French the Rebublican are waaaaaayyyy too conservative... your democrats are our conversative ! You would probably call our liberals "communists" wink.gif)

My cousin is a die hard republican. He said if Obama wins there will be riots in the streets and he's truly afraid. The way he spews the bs he hears on the radio drives me crazy! He was telling me something about Obama only having 171 days of experience. Just repeating what he hears without knowing the facts. My other cousin on the other hand is also a republican and we can have good discussions about our different views.

I support Obama's plan for our healthcare system (hoping for universal in the near future). I'm also very opposed to No Child Left Behind and feel Obama will help with that mess. I'm also supporting someone who will have an adiminstration that won't practice fear based leadership.

I am all for Obama... I listened to McCain's and Palin's speeches and really tried to listen to what they stand for and there were many things I just could not agree with like their plans for health insurance and the environment.

I voted for Obama and I hope that we see some good changes in this country if he is elected president. I cannot wait to see the war in Iraq end. I would love to see some type of universal health insurance start up and I am all about getting into renewable energy resources.

I agree with you Alyssa on my choice for Obama. I'm waiting for FI to get homw so we can go vote. I told him if I have to wait 10 hours, I'll wait!

Most of My family and in-laws are voting for Obama, even my dad who is a die hard Republican is voting for Obama (Go DAD cheer2.gif!).

I am very proud to be an American but feel for the past eight years I've been very detached and don't want another 4 years of this. We need change in every single way and I feel that Obama is the only candidate that can turn us in the right direction. This change will take alot longer that 4 years to clean up!

Did anybody read the McCain article in Rolling Stone? I know it might have been biased, but it was terrifying.
I couldn't read that entire article! I'm sure it was very biased, but if even one or two things in there are true, damn!

I too, am an Obama gal.

My mother is a die-hard Republican, and I struggle to figure out why. She's currently going through chemo for stage 4 lung cancer - how could she support McCain's healthcare policy? Not only can she not afford her own insurance, she doesn't have the strength to research policies from around the country to determine why a policy in Arizona might be better for her than a policy in Delaware, let alone finding one that covers pre-existing conditions. I just don't get it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
