just compare the price difference. if you bring your own from where you live, you have to pay for their flight and hotel plus the cost of their services. i know alot of people do it, i chose to hire a local photographer. go with whatever is more convenient for you :-)

Photography is essential, and something that you don't want to regret. A perfect wedding with average photography takes away from the memories and the legacy. It is one of the things in a wedding that is defiantly a long term investment. Meet the Burks is a great US team based out if Charlotte, NC they are personally and prices are reasonable. Merrick Cousley is skimpily amazing and he is a native, an absolute pleasure to work with abs micro detail oriented.

I think my fiance is having a conflict with himself because he told his friend about the wedding and told his friend to be the photographer without looking at prices or pictures or anything. He is a nice guy but I kind of want someone who takes pictures in the wedding venue on the regular basis and who knows where to take the pictures, what time it would be best, knows the area, knows how to set up the cameras and what not. He would be basically experimenting with me and I think it will come out way more expensive than if I get a photographer from the area. Even if I don't get all the pictures they take, I can be sure that the pictures I do decide to keep will be amazing. I have to talk to my fiance and make him see these details. As much as it sucks to tell his friend we won't be using his services, it is for the best.

I would stick with a local one. We use Rounald from WPA Jamaica. Our resort charged a $300 vendor fee so keep that cost in mind. Bringing your own would cost flight and hotel. A local photographer already knows the best locations or shots from prior experience. Best of luck to you!! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
