Post here if you are getting married in Jamaica

Recommended Posts

I recently got Married at SGOR on April 10, 2010 and it was fantastic!!

I was concerned based on somethings I had read on this blog and other review sites but I was blown away with the experience I had there.

If I could sum up my experience at Sandals Grande Ochos Rios in one word it would be PHENOMENAL!

The service was as spectacular as the beautiful Jamaican scenary. The grounds were immaculately kept as well as the rooms. The entire resort is beautiful.

I have never been on vacation and felt so at home and welcome by each and every staff member. Everyone you passed would say hello and ask you how you were doing or if you needed anything and were more than happy to make sure you were having the best time possible.

We particularly were impressed with two of the bartenders at the Sundowner Bar in The Riviera Building. It truly would not have been a party without them. They were fun and attentive and made some of the most delicious drinks I have ever had. Milton and Carlyle are phenomenal bartenders and made every night even better than the next.

If you stop by the Sundowner bar please tell them hello from King and Queen Arthur.

Our wedding festivities were effortless and perfect. All my husband and I really had to do was show up and the rest was easy. Our ceremony was perfect and our officiate Joel created a ceremony suited just perfectly for us. The reception following was lovely and well organized, I could not have asked for more. They also did a great job catering to the large group of guests, everyone was extremely happy with the ceremony and overall experience.

I highly recommend SGOR to anyone looking to have wonderful wedding experience and lookatme.gif a fabulous time and not feel like a tourist, but as if you are a friend.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
