That is awesome!!  Congratulations!!  We leave on 4/9/13, for our wedding week.  Wedding is on Friday 4/12/13!  Yesica is also our WC and she has been amazing.  May I ask if you tipped her?  I know that I will for sure because we've planned for 15 months and she has been so helpful, I just am not sure what is appropriate!

I know what you mean about waiting to go back in a year.  We went for a site visit in October and didn't want to leave!  But the last 6 months flew by!

She is such a sweetheart. It does take a while to hear back from her once in a while, but she's very thorough. Its almost your wedding day! Congrats!

We want a ceremony and reception on the beach or the reception at least overlooking th beach.  any pros and cons would be great. Thanks.

Also any recommendations.  We do have a budget of $5000 total if thats even possible.

Thank you!

Kim and Oscar

Congratulations!

I think it's totally possible to get married for that budget depending upon what sort of wedding you want and how many guests you are having. I got married in Los Cabos almost a year and a half ago, closer to the San Jose del Cabo area but on the beach. I cannot think of any cons for having both ceremony and reception on the beach. We didn't have much wind and the weather was absolutely perfect in November. The pros? I can't even list them. My husband and I still talk about how we loved our wedding.

My reception was on the beach as well, set up outside a restaurant that catered the food and helped with the set-up of everything (the restaurant was called Mama Mia). Their wedding coordinator was really great and easy to work with. Everything was reasonably priced and our budget was not that much more than yours. We had 25 guests and I kept my set-up pretty simple. Our photographer was absolutely fabulous to work with as was our florist. Our photographer was Gonzalo from ArtnColors and we had our flowers done through Floreria Rayen. I highly recommend both. Here is the link to some pictures. I can send you more set-up pictures if you want.  Just PM me. :) I also have a planning thread if you want to check that out as well.

Pucca,

Lovely pictures!

Im getting married at Melia, but doing it at a restaurant sounds really easy going!

Do you have the prices for the mama Mia restaurant?

How does it work to set up the wedding on the beach?

I loved your wedding congrats :)

Thank you so much! It was definitely easy going doing it through Mama Mia!

I am going to check to see if I still have anything from Mama Mia and I will PM you. It was a buffet so the prices depended upon what you wanted to be served. They also ordered the cake for us from a bakery that we had originally tried to contact on our own, so you can imagine we were quite thrilled.

Basically the wedding took place on the public portion of the beach. Mama Mia is on a resort/timeshare property so the reception is held on the part of the beach that belongs to the property. We just requested the chuppah from the florist, and then the wedding coordinator from the restaurant set up the chairs, according to what we asked. Then the florist communicated with the wedding coordinator, and everything was arranged. The wedding coordinator from Mama Mia was absolutely wonderful to work with. So I don't think I was stressed at all the day of the wedding, even after a few little hiccups which was to be expected. cheesy.gif

Hi and congrats! My budget is 10k for my wedding (April 2014) for 40 guests. We looked up every hotel that I saw on the map, but still couldn't decide. You have SO many things you need to decide: did we want all-inclusive or european plan? Have everything at the resort, or should we have it at a restaurant? San Jose del Cabo, or Cabo San Lucas? Or the corridor? So, we started with european plan (non-AI- we figured with the dinner and welcome dinner, that would be 2 nights wasted), Cabo San Lucas (more shopping, more Americanized, more activities for people to do), and we wanted everything to be at the hotel (instead of going to a restaurant- we didn't want to bother with transportation fees, and we also didn't want to worry about some people needing to leave early due to their kids, etc), so now we are thinking about Casa Dorada, and waiting to hear back for prices. I ended up hiring a WC, and she has been worth every penny so far. I didn't want to hire one at first so that I could spend the money on the wedding, but it was too hard for me to call and find vendors. Pretty much every hotel provides beach weddings, but it's hard to find a private area, so you will have looky loos. Places I considered, just to give you an idea, was Sunset da Mona Lisa (GORGEOUS view, but requires transportation), Hacienda Cocina y Cantina (I think this place is very affordable and you can also have the reception on the beach), Sheraton, Casa Dorada, and Bahia. You might also want to check out Fiesta Americana, I hear they have a good AI plan that's affordable, which would make the price of your wedding go WAY down.

Hope this helped!

I'm planning on getting married in Cabo at Dreams or Riu Palace February 2014. Our budget is about 10k-12k and I'm nervous everything is adding up. One thing that is really important to us is a great photographer and DJ. Any suggestions between the 2 resorts?!?!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
