So this was the week where I was really going to be strict with what I was eating, and working out every day. I did work out yesterday morning, and this morning... but as far as the food goes, I was so bad last night. I kinda have an excuse though... My cousin and his wife were in a motorcycle accident, and I had to go to the hospital, then back to their apartment to take care of some things for them. The only thing around was a McDonalds... argh! So of course I scarfed down a #2 and now I feel soooo guilty! Today's a new day though.

Cassey- I am always on the road for work and everyone once in a while I have no choice but to eat at McDonalds. I have found if I get a grilled chicken sandwich without mayo and adding mustard it is only 4.5 gr of fat and 370 cal. Then if you add a package of apple slices and a bottle of water you have a meal that you can feel alright eating at the golden arches.

Is anyone else living in sin? When I lived by myself it was so easy to stick to a good diet. Now I live with FI, and he has a major sweet tooth, and I feel like I eat crap all of the time. He's not happy unless he's sharing his ice cream, m&m's etc, with me. It's so much harder living with him. sad.gif

Mel- I am not living in sin half of the time :) I still have my house but I really have not seen it for a couple months. Anyway I was doing the exact same thing, eating like crap. I found if I went to the store and did the shopping then he really did not notice that there were no more peanut m&m's or ice cream in the house. I switched to popsicles (the dole fruit juice bars, strawberry are my favorite) and jello and the funny part is that when I make jello (the easiest thing in the world to make) he thinks that I took the time out of my day to really make him dessert. You could try it maybe it works for more than one guy!

Hey girls! I have been trying to lose weight as we get closer to our wedding date and am realizing how large some of my portions are even though I have cut them back!! I have totally cut them down more and working some new items in my diet! My favorite being this recipe!! OMG it is soo good and healthy too! FI loves it too so that helps!

Nutty Brown Rice

1 cup of brown rice

2 1/2 cups low sodium chicken broth

1 small onion chopped

2 cloves garlic chopped

1 carrot use potato peeled to shred it then cut in pieces

1 1/2 TBSP olive oil

1/2 cup drained peas or corn

less then 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts

less then 1/2 cup deshelled sunflower seeds

** I add more veggies than the recipe calls for :)

Cook rice and broth let come to a boil then cover and simmer for 50 minutes.

Shut rice off and let stant for 5 minutes.

While rice is cooking In frying pan saute all the above for about 10 minutes.

Add mixture to the cooked rice...Enjoy

YES Living in Sin carries the penance of weight gain! haha I have gained 40 lbs since we moved in together. I make him dinner all the time - good stuff I would have never made for just me - pork chops, taters, gravy etc. So the challenge now is to make leaner choices for myself and satisfying stuff for him. BUT I want to look good for him, the wedding, and most importantly - myself. So...game on!

So Stu and I went to the Knicks/ Mavs game on Sunday night and got a coupon for Subway on the back of our ticket subs... buy one get one free... That being said, I've had subway for my last 4 meals... I'm so sick of it... How the heck did Jared ever do it? Hmmm... maybe a salad for lunch today.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
