Hi Ladies,

I have tried to post before, but not sure if I was successful. I am completely new to this type of forum chat.

I am getting married at Playa Pesquero in March 2009. VERY SOON :)

I booked a 2:00pm ceremony and the Beach BBQ for our reception.

Connie....your pics are wonderful and you look stunning. I loved your hair as well. Mind if I get a picture to bring with me so they can try to do the same? Did you have any suggestions for the beach bbq setting etc...huh.gif I 'm curious if I should bother bringing decorations for the tables etc...

Thanks ladies for all your valuable information and congrats :)

Jodie, I don't mind at all if you bring a picture of my hair for the hairdresser. She does a really good job but a little slow. Make sure you leave yourself lots of time. We had 2 moms, 3 bridesmaids and myself. We started at 9 am and it was a little tight to get everyone done.

For the reception I just had them stick with all white linens, they like to add all sort of little bits of flare. I also brought white and pink small paper bags to use as luminaries and a ton of votive candles. My suggestion is that you check the setup or have someone check it for you around 5:00 in case you need to make any changes.

All the best, let me know if you have any other questions!

Connie...your flowers are beautiful. Did you bring those or did they really have those in Cubahuh.gif

I thought of making those luminares. They are made with cardstock paper? Did they work well?

How was the entire beach bbq dinner. Were you pleased with the set up?

Did you bring CD's with your music to play after dinner?

Thanks a bunch..your pictures are inspiring and really get me excited.

Cheers,

Jodie

I brought my flowers with me. They are for sale if you're interested. I have a bride bouquet and 3 smaller BM ones. Oh, and a hair flower.

I made the luminaries out of small paper bags from Michaels. All I did is use a lacy edge punch for the tops of the bags, and put sand and a votive candle inside. I thought they were great, added a nice extra light to the tables.

The beach BBQ food was some of the best we ate all week. The set-up was kinda weird (Think orange fabric hearts on the ground and black candles on the cake table) at first but I went at checked on it around 4:30 and they made some changes which made the whole thing better.

For music we used an ipod with various different playlists. We also asked for a mic for the speeches.

Thanks Connie.... I might go with the flowers that are at the resort. Them seem nice. At least I hope :)

After your ceremony, was there a lot of "time" before the dinner? Our wedding is also at 2pm.

We are also doing the sand ceremony and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw your pictures of it. I loved the frame/sand idea. Is that also from Michaels?

When you had to actually pay for the wedding did they just charge to your room account? I've heard they ask you for the cash right away.

Sorry so many questions.....Let me know if I'm a pain.

Any other suggestions for things I should bring in terms of decorations or anything you can think of ? I truly appreciate all your help.

Thanks again,

Jodie

I had the frame already, the two vials were from Michaels.

We paid for the wedding with Visa the day after the wedding.

Jodie, you are not a pain at all :)

They charged our room for the wedding, and we paid it before we left. We did have to pay the photographer for the pictures and the videographer for the dvd on the spot on the wedding day though. No one told us that and we of course had no money on us, so that was strange. We thought we would pay it all later, so keep that in mind.

The TTD was sooo much fun, I totally recommend it. Most people go more sexy with it, but we are just not that kind of couple, so we went the fun route, that is just who we are :)

If you have any questions, ask away.

Connie,

We met with the photographer who is coming with us tonight, and he was asking about lighting during the reception/Beach BBQ. What types of lights do they have? He wanted to know if it's hard to see....or what they have there? I only noticed lights from strings around the tables. Did your photographer bring lights?

Thanks so much....

p.s. Did the hair stylist come to your room? or did you go to her? What time did you book your appointment? I have 4 other girls...when should I book them?

My oh my...the questions...hahaha :)

Thanks,

Jodie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
