Hi Crystallball

Your photos look ace and I am sure your photographer ones are even better.

It all looked like it went well - congratulations!

The forums appear to have gone quiet!

Its 7 weeks till we go and we marry on 8th April. Getting exciting now

Did you take your own photographer with you? Could you use the resort photographer to take more?

Hope to hear from you soon and congratulations again

Lisa

Hi everyone! We've booked Playa Pesquero leaving Nov 29 - still waiting on Yaly to find out about the date of the ceremony. I was looking at the wedding packages and keep reading about the Tobacco Legend and Cuban Rum Legend Packages at $1200 each, but I've never heard any mention of these on the forums - does anyone know about these and what's included? Thanks!

I just found some information about the cuban legend wedding on a Facebook group discussion (just type in Playa Pesquero in your search bar tool). So here what is included in the legend wedding, and it costs 300cuc (equivalent of 350-400$ $ I think):

Complimentary massage for the couple on wedding day
Extra amenities in the room on wedding night (candles, incense, rose petals & bathing salts)
Chocolates on wedding night

Wedding present for the couple
Wedding arch decorated with white tulle and tropical natural flowers, white chair covers and tablecloth, centre piece.
Wedding toast with Sparkling wine or rum based Cuban cocktails

Cuban Rum Legend Wedding
Presentation of Cuban folk show and live music at the ceremony.
All Decorations in white

Coffee Legend Wedding
Afro-Cuban Wedding: After the ceremony, a piece of Cuban folklore including music, rhythms and traditions.
All Decorations in white and gold

Tobacco Legend Wedding
A recreation of native Cuba, the early rituals of the “Cohobaâ€, our famous cigars.
All decorations in white and green

I have a question to Playa Pesquero brides or anybody who have been at this hotel:

I'm REALLY shy and I really don't want to get married on the beach where people are sunbathing and watching! I even seen pictures of ceremonies done at the gazeebo and you arrive in a horse and carriage on the beach in front of everybody! People keep telling me it's not so bad cause the ceremony is done in a more secluded part of the beach, but I'm still freaking out!!! I would love to find a really private spot possibily overlooking the ocean, with just me and my guests.

Does anyone know if we HAVE to get married at these two spots (either the new gazeebo or the arch on the beach), or is there other places on the beach that we could chose from? I'm looked at a sattelite image of the hotel and have seen a laguna or a small beach that looks totally private, at the extreme left side of the hotel, do you know if you can do it there, or wherever we want on hotel grounds?

Thanks!

Hi Sirenita,

Here is what Yaly sent me about the wedding venues, hope it helps:

" A quiet beachfront spot with a stunning view of the ocean decorated with a white arch & flowers is a trendy choice for a Caribbean wedding.

For a more conventional and intimate ceremony, couples choose the gazebo, overlooking the pool gardens and decorated with white drapes

and flowers.

Playa Pesquero tropical gardens are another excellent choice given its vibrant and exuberant greenery."

So it looks like there are three spots - if you don't want onlookers, maybe the garden site would be better. I'm sure if you wanted to get married at another location they'd probably accomodate you.

Hi Ladies

I have not been yet - but go in 16 sleeps time!

I probably can advise you both more on my return.

I am sure you have searched all the other threads about Cuba like I did - I have been in touch with a few brides, however the best person to answer your questions is probably Yaly - she usually replies to emails on weekends (when there are no weddings).

We have not yet decided on our location, going to decide when seen them in person. I fancied gazebo overlooking sea, but not on beach itself - but once seen the beach setting it looks stunning so I dont know - having said that we are a party of 29 going over - so gardens with gazebo where everyone can sit in shade might be better for our guests - again will decide on arrival.

We have provisionally booked beach BBQ with Yaly - dont pay until get there - and are contemplating the legends package - not sure which one yet.

Speak soon

Lisa

Thanks so much Corobeus!

16 sleeps, wow, not much time left for you, wouhou! !!

I would really appreciate it if you could give me your feedback on the different location when you get back, cause it's still making me really nervous, I don't think the quiet beachfront spot is that "quiet" (or maybe not quiet enough for me!), but tell me how it goes!

And I think the new gazeebo is on the beach, if I'm not mistaken?

yes Yaly has sent me pictures the new gazebo is right on the beach

The older wooden gazebo is in the grounds and from pictures looks pretty remote

The beach gazebo looks really pretty (and I didnt want to get married on the beach)

so I will wait till I get there and decide - Yaly says she will walk us round them all, I do believe there is a third choice

We have 29 of us in total - so to keep everyone cool we may have to go for garden one unless they can out our guests in shade - we requested 4pm wedding April 2010 and did not get it - we have been given 2pm so its going to be hot!

will let you know - 3 weeks today is my wedding day - 2 weeks today we jet off

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
