Connie, that's too funny. I'm sure my FI will change his mind a few more times before we leave. He is so cute because he just doesn't want to look like he's at a "beach party" because it's "not a beach party" LOL crazy guy.

K'osh those dresses are lovely! My MOH will most likely end up with this one since in sapphire (I think when you click on the link it shows up as a fuschia color!):

After Six Bridesmaid Style 6523: The Dessy Group

However, she likes this style better but can only find it in purple, which just won't work:

Alfred Angelo... Find the perfect Wedding Dress, Bridesmaid Dress, Prom Dress, Flower Girl Dress or Mother of the Bride Dress at Alfred Angelo.

Her and I both prefer the second dress in terms of the style, however, we are limited as I said. I asked her to see if the bridal shop in Winnipeg could call other stores in Canada to see if they have the second dress in blue in her size on their rack to send to Winnipeg!! I don't know if that's a tall order or not, but we shall see. I think the first dress will be fine though, and at the end of the day, I'm paying for it and she only has to wear it for a day so she'll be ok blush2.gif

K'osh:

I'm going to e-mail Yaly this weekend to book the wedding date. I have appts with travel agents next week, I just have to figure out the days my party can fly, because half are flying out of Alberta, while the other half are flying out of Newfoundland. Who are you booking through? Some travel agents are saying prices aren't out yet for May 2010, which is frustrating. Hopefully we will be there at the same time and get to meet each other!!:) Quick Question, are you getting married before you leave or are you going to do the legal ceremony down there? Thanks again for all the information you e-mailed me, it was a GREAT help!

K'osh ansd Sarah you MOH and DM dresses are beautiful!!!

Jill: I've heard the same thing about the 2010 rates not being finalized yet. The average from Toronto is around $1400. Some companies offer the early booking bonus/every 16th passenger is free. Some have a price guarantee program (if the price goes up yours stays the same) and some don't. Most require you to have 10 people put a deposit down. Those are some of the things your TA should tell you.

Maybe you should talk to the TA's before booking your wedding. So that you know the exact days you would be arriving on...I'm sure you know you have to be in Cuba 72hrs before they marry you.

I'm pretty positive we're going to do the legal ceremony down there.

Just a word of advice...if this is your first e-mail to Yaly it may take here up to a week to get back to you.

Thanks for the offer! I haven't heard back from her yet so I'm not sure where it stands. If I talk to her before tomorrow and get her size (she recently had a baby), I will let you know! msnwink.gif

Sarah, I have that dress in Riveria Sky, what size would she be? I wore it for a wedding a few years ago. Mine is a little longer though, I will look on the website and see if I can find the exact dress. Mine is a 10, if that works and you like the colour, she can have it. Let me know.

Who told you that? When I got married there, I was told you don't have to be there any amount of time beforehand, that is what Yaly told me. So I would double check that if I was you. Just a word of advise :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
