Ok Ladies (and guys if there are any),

Welcome to the April 2009, weight loss thread . Lets chat about our weight loss goals here and share our ups and downs on the way to reach those goals. Plus lets cheer eachother on for our successes!

I propose a series of mini challenges to help us on our way. The first being a Christmas Challenge. If anyone has any ideas or input to make this more fun, lets hear it!

My personal goal is 6 lbs by xmas, and i avoided so much Halloween candy last night to help keep me on track.

So what is your goal?

Well, I am working on a bit harder goal... about 60lbs by wedding time... wish me luck! That averages about 12lbs per month or 3lbs per week. When you break it down like that, it doesn't seem so impossible.

So... I have been expirementing with my holiday cooking lists. Making "healthy" versions of all the food I love to munch on. I even found a really great Healthy Banana Bread Recipe.

Anyway, Thanks for starting the thread! Can't wait to hear what the other ladies are doing and share suggestions!

I am so happy I am not alone in this weight loss battle. I have been nursing a foot injury for the past year and think I have finally gotten back to being ready to get back into exercising.

My goal is to lose 30 lbs before April. Some of the things I plan on doing are:

* I am going to try to get half my work out in before I go to work each morning by getting up early.

* Increase the water intake and stop eating dinner so late.

* Cut back on the coffee and sugar, no junk food to cope with the work stress.

How about you ladies?

So glad we have a lot of people on board here. I'm with edssbride. I'm determined to lose 6lbs by Christmas wich I think is pretty attainable. Being more consistent with my exercise and cutting down on the not so healthy food will hopefully help me to get there. We'll see how it's going in about two weeks and if I'm not seeing progress I might have to be a little more diligent.

I'm at a weight now that I seem to get stuck at over and over again. I've already lost 10 lbs but I did this right before summer too and then gained most of it back. I can't seem to push my way past this weight so I'm glad we're all going to motivate each other. I really need it!! It's as if I feel like 10 lbs is enough and so I celebrate and I can't seem to stay motivated for more....wish me luck!!

I'd ideally like to lose another 20lbs before the wedding, but we'll see what happens. I've already lost 20lbs since June, but my bane is spaghetti and 12-hour shift work... I've always been a bit of a gym rat and play hockey regularly, but I've added some kickboxing to the mix lately. I think the 5-10lb mark for Christmas is a good start.

Cheers to April weddings!

I am so excited at how many of us are here! I also get to a certain weight and then seem to plateau... I am so determined not to let that happen this time around though! I will keep you in check miss montegobay!

Last night was less than healthy though, beer and nacho's at the pub. Today, i will have to punish myself a bit at the gym and eat super healthy! I just joined WW-online last week, so tomorrow is my first Weigh-In. I hope it goes well!

Have a great day ladies, lets be healthy!

I'm a May bride, so I hope yall don't kick me off, but I'm wanting to get my pics done in February so I gotta get my butt back in shape. I was really good after the engagement and was at the gym every morning before work. I lost about 12 lbs, but I've been slacking off this past month and am sure I've gained some of it back. I'm still 6 months out which seems like a lot of time, but I know it's going to creep up on me super duper fast. My goal is to lose 15 more by January. I'm so glad someone started this thread!

I also hope you guys do not mind I crash into your thread since I am a Feb bride but I am trying to loose another 10 but would really like to loose 15 by the wedding. I usually workout 5 days a week mixing cardio and weights but lately I have been stuck the scale going down a couple lbs then back up. This week I ate horrible probably the worst in about a year so now I have to really get my but in gear I have my BD shoot at the end of the month.

Great idea on starting the thread. I am stuck on my current weight. I lost 15 earlier this year and would like to lose 15 more before the wedding! I am going to have to really focus on food as hitting the gym is no longer doing it! I would like to lose 5-10 by Christmas. My weakness is weekends. I can behave all week but as soon as Friday night rolls around it is really hard to say no to the beers and bad food. What a better way to get off my plateau then by kicking this bad habit!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
