Rhodium-dipped white gold

Recommended Posts

Wow, I am surprised at how quickly all these rings need to be re-dipped. I have had my ring since December 2006, and it has never been re-dipped. I have had my wedding bands since May 2008, and they look fine too. And there is no difference between the three.

Hmmmmm, wondering if I should get mine done and would they look better? Like maybe they look bad now and I don't even know it??

i drop mine off with a local jewler & pick it up in an hour or two. he is next to a mall, so I usually just shop until it's ready.

i called around to find someone who can do it right then. some places will send it off to be done & it will take a few days.

the price is usually $20-$30

I just called the jeweler who FI got the ring from...its $35. I have had the ring for about 2.5 years and have never gotten it done. My is just a bit dull and yellow on the underside so only I know its there. But I am going to get it done right before the wedding so when pics are taken it actually looks nice :-)

But that jeweler is now about a 12 hour drive away so I might have to look around. My e-ring is also about 2 sizes too big...oops

the place we got my ring has free dipping for life, and they said not to do it more than once a year if you can help it because in order to re-dip it they first have to buff it up (almost like mini-sandblasting haha) to prepare the surface for the rhodium to stick to it. so if you do it too much, your band will actually wear down over time.

we got my ring in october of 2007, i had it dipped right before the wedding in july 08, and have not had it done again yet. it was pretty yellow in comparison to my wedding band back last year, but now they both look the same next to each other. ill probably get it done every year using our anniversary as a reminder :)

oh and it takes less than an hour at my place.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
