Keratosis Pilaris?

Well, I wish I had known about this dermadoctor earlier. I get KP bad on the back of my arms. I am not allowing myself to pick from now until the wedding. I don't even mind that they are pinker than rest of arms, just hate the bumpiness. I will have to investigate this dermadoctor stuff.

I have KP but on the back of my legs. I think I got it from wearing a school uniform when I was a kid - polyester skirt and sitting in school on plastic chairs, especially if it was hot out and sweating sad.gif

FI now has it. He saw mine and said look. He got it recently when wearing a polo type of shirt and sweating, he only has it where he was sweating and he wears a muscle shirt under his polo and its only on the exposed skin to cheap shirt ratio :)

I have been meaning to get something to put on it but I never do. I read something somewhere about Carmol-10 or something like that? I will have to get on this and go buy all the stuff to try - thanks for the tips and reminder! smile159.gif

jen, personally i hate the carmol lotion - it's more expensive because its prescription, and it doesnt last as long as the KP DermaDoctor creme.

i used to use the carmol-10 solution before KP DermaDoctor was ever invented and it bleached so many of my clothes/sheets and honestly didnt do that great of a job of getting rid of my bumps. the KP DD works a lot better and i dont even have to apply it every single day. in fact, i havent even used it since just before my wedding, and i am only getting a few bumps here and there just now (my wedding was 2.5 months ago)

wow omg i have this too but mine is mostly skin colored bumps, which like maura, i tend to scratch/pick at until it turns red. i have never used anything other than the scrub, the medicated target brand is just as good as the st. ives kind, and scrubbier, too.

but for me it only works if i do it often, like every day. if i take a day off from scrubbing, it comes right back. wow who would have thunk it so many of us girls on here have issues with it?

my old dermo said plain old lubriderm lotion would work, but it didnt really help. i dont like the feeling of that lotion. supposedly moisturization is supposed to help, which is weird, cause i always thought it was from being too lotion-y.

KP DermaDoctor is actually sort of an extreme moisturizer. my dermatologist told me with both this stuff and the carmol lotion NEVER use it on your face.

it contains gycolic acid and urea.

KP Duty at Dermadoctor

it's recommended that you use the dermadoctor scrub with it, but honestly its super expensive for how often you should use it, so i just use the cheapie st ives scrub instead and that works just fine.

i bought mine from sephora abbie - Sephora: Dermadoctor KP "Double" Duty ($72 Value): Bath & Body Sets

but trust me you dont want me to buy it for you - the sales tax in chicago is 10.25%. sephora is doing free shipping though for all orders over $50, so that might be easier for you to order it from the website with the free shipping. you will pay way less taxes than if i get it for you.

oh - and although the dermadoctor site says to use it twice daily, i never have, and have still seen great results from it. once a day was enough for me. but you should try it with once a day first and if that doesnt work, go to twice a day. i saw improvement within a week.

Yeah I have this problem too on the back of my arms but I don't bother doing anything about it because it's not THAT bad. I do rub with the sponge and body wash every day which is maybe why it's not that bad. It never was horrible, but maybe it used to be a little worse, I don't know, I don't think the scrubbing is helping much but I don't really care since it's not that bad.

I also get it a little bit on my thighs if I don't shave every 5 days or so.

I think it's heriditary? My dad has it super bad on his arms and legs. Luckily mine isn't as bad.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
