the sand ceremony is like a newer version of the unity candle idea.

if you use the search function in the top right corner you will come up with a ton of information.

Anyone can read it. The only part a judge/minister has to read it the vows portion and pronouncing you man and wife. Carla wink.gif

we did a sand ceremony. this is what our said

Unity Sand

Tara and Joe today you join your separate lives together.

The two separate cups of sand in front of us symbolize your separate lives, separate families and separate sets of friends. They represent all that you are and all that you’ll ever be as an individual. They also represent your lives before today. As these two containers of sand are poured into the third container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will your marriage be.

then he asked us to pour our sand together. we used sand from our ceremony location becuase we wanted to have sand from where we got married

Cheers,
We carried on our sand ceremony vases, wrapped them in bubble wrap once and didn't have a problem with them. We left the vases at Las Caletas as they weren't worth bringing back - we didn't get expensive ones, just from Michaels.

As for the sand, our wedding coordinator tranfered it into an empty water bottle for us to take back with us. Now we're trying to find something nice to put the sand in. We do have the sand water bottle displayed though! Every time I look at it I think of our wedding. I think it's pretty cool

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
