I was going to say the same thing. Check out the last post on this page (pg 42) http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t21722-42 As soon as I saw your dress I thought of this one as well. It is similar, but white.

Don't fret... you still have plenty of time. Just be patient and keep trying those dresses on. You're bound to find yours eventually. I would suggest trying on gowns that you think you won't like because I had a certain style in my head, and tried on one that was totally opposite of what I thought I wanted... and it turned out to be the one. Hope this helps!

You will find .. just don't get too down in the process. I agree with Casey, look at dresses that you would think you wouldn't like... sitting on a hanger and actually on you totally different story. This is how I found my dress... they had it in the Davids Bridal catalog in all white... hate it and thought it was just too much frilly stuff on it ... the lady put it in blue in my room... second I saw it ... I knew it was my dress... I told her I didn't see this dress in the catalog and then pointed it out ... HUUUUUGEEEE difference... Hope that helps and keep your chin up things will be fine...

lol oh dear! I do totally sympathize with you on the FMIL thing, mine would TOTALLY say something like that to me...in fact, she kind of already did. She told me that I should wear white to show my "purity", yes she actually said that even though deep down she knows that we're not "pure" by her standards...whatever lol. Get what you really want! And personally, I love that coloured dress, and think it is perfect for a DW. Good luck with your search, I know it's hard and daunting and it seems like everyone else has an idea of how you should look. Just get what looks good on you and answer only to you wink.gif

Sometimes finding "the one" is overrated...i was expecting & waiting until one I tried on made me come to tears (like everyone told me) & then finally realized, were women..trying out beautiful gowns, so there are going to be plenty that we love & to just find what felt right, was comfortable and stopped freaking about waiting to find one that made me cry, b/c that just isn't my personality anyway.

Keep positive, you'll find one that works for you & you'll be gorgeous! And i agree with the girls, screw the in-laws this is YOUR wedding not theirs! :)

I agree with Sloan and Erica053009! FMIL does not get to dictate your day! (it's easy for me to say this, of course, because I have a language barrier with mine, so it's pretty easy to let anything she says slide off my back!) I think that dress is gorgeous! I also think wedding dress shopping is overrated - it sounds like fun until you can't find what you want and start stressing out over finding the perfect one! Go for the fun dress - imagine how radiant you'll look in the pictures if you're wearing a dress you love! Even if it isn't whitest white!

when i went shopping this past weekend, i had 4 bridesmaids and my mother with me. they made me try on all sorts of stuff that i would have NEVER tried on. to be honest, i probably wouldn't have selected the one i did except that it made everyone cry and they all insisted it was "the one." it took awhile for them to convince me because i originally wanted something much simpler in a beachy, flowy chiffon, and definitely not strapless. the dress i ended up with was heavy satin (i'm going to sweat to death), ornately beaded, and is strapless with a cathedral length train! it really is beautiful tho, and looked very flattering on (no pix of it on me yet, but i posted the dress here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t85#post591015). after a million flowy dresses (that made me feel like i was wearing nightgowns), i really feel like a "bride" in this one!

so first of all, i LOVE the dress you posted. i don't think your FMIL should have anything to do with what you pick. mine wasn't there for dress shopping ... just my own mother. and she's ridiculous about how her son should get a bride in white! if he doesn't care (and honestly he would know how "pure" you are, LOL), then why should anyone else? however, maybe having others there when you try dresses might help sway your opinion toward one dress over another? also i should add, what you like in pictures may not be what you like in person. i swear the dress i got was WAY more beautiful in person than in the pics ... i hardly recognize it!

so don't be discouraged! definitely step outside the box and you'll find your perfect dress. when you FEEL beautiful in something, you WILL be beautiful in it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
