Have any of you had paul/rachel schrank from PLayawddings do your photography or heard anything good or bad about them? I am thinking about booking them for my May 09 Riu Yucatan wedding??

Hi Brit! Congrats on next year's wedding plans

 

After tons of research on videographers in the Riviera Maya area, I actually booked Paul Schrank about a month ago for my wedding next June. He's a very well-liked and widely used videographer for many BDW brides, and is actually a BDW member. I've heard nothing but good reviews on his work and videography style. If you do a search using his name with the BDW search tool, you'll find several threads on brides who have used him in the past!

I used him for my video too. He's a super nice guy and did a great job with my highlights video.

 

As for photography, they just got into this business in the past few months, I'm not sure how many weddings the've done. Paul took a few pictures at my wedding in April between video-tapping (I think this was when they first started doing photography). He had them posted on his website for a while before he replaced them with a more complete set of photos of an entire wedding they shot.

 

Perhaps Paul will answer and give us more info on how the photography business is going. Maybe he can give you contact info for the bride who's pictures are on his website (and others)

I have booked Rachel (Paul's wife), of PlayaWeddings for our wedding next May also. From what I understand, she is THE photographer and Paul is THE videographer! Both...do amazing work from what I have been able to view.

 

Their blog will continue to be updated, now that they are back from their own honeymoon, and you should be able to see a few more wedding shots there. I find Rachel's work really beautiful and intricate. She has an "artsy" flare that really stays with me each time I look at her photos, not unlike some of the other greats I've been introduced to via BDW (i.e. DelSolPhotography, Elizabeth Medina, etc.)

Hi guys!

 

I am getting married at the Paradisus on April 3, 2009 and I am going with Playaweddings for both video and photos. I asked the same question a few months back, but no one had used them for photos.

 

I just fell in love with their videos when I saw them!!! Although they didn't seem to have a lot of experience with the photos (that I could see on their website), I figured anyone who would capture the emotions through the video could do the same through the photos!
