I walked out in TEARS!

Recommended Posts

I felt the same way, I am the same exact size as you. I bought a dress and was so upset looking at it I sold it on Ebay and refuse to get one until January....I say that we keeping working out and eating right and we will both be in the dress of our dreams.

It would have been nice if the lady had let me know in advance as well....I mean, I'm sure she could see by my shape that I might not fit into the sample size dress. My fiance tried to make me feel better but you know men don't really know what to do with a hysterical crying woman!! Poor love, he tried his best and told me that he loves me the way I am and he absolutely supports me working out so that I feel better about myself. I think he said he loved me the way I am 100 times! I will definately check out David's Bridal. If anyone lives in the Dallas area and knows of a great salon that has dresses in multiple sizes please let me know. I also like the suggestion of finding a style similar to the casablance one that I love and figuring out if that style looks good on me...that way I would know the dream dress would look great or if I should look at a different style of dress. great suggestion! My wedding isn't until July so I've got 8 months to go...I'm going to work out really hard for the next 2 months, hold my head up and know that I am beautiful inside and out!!! I can't thank you girls enough. The support I have recieved on this forum is amazing!!!

I knew the dress that I wanted, but do you think I could find anywhere that had it in my size? Nope! Instead I either got it on but couldn't do it up in the front, or it had to be clipped in the back to keep it closed because it was too big. I tried on other dresses that were similar that fit and ended up going with the dress I originally wanted.

Good luck with the workouts and future dress shopping. I agree with everyone else that said not to worry about the size. Go into the bridal shop and tell the sales lady the type of dress you are looking for and let her get the dresses for you.

Oh no!!! Don't be upset...

Wedding dresses generally do come much smaller and honestly; size is just a number anyway.

I have been trying on dresses that are 4 to 5 sizes larger than I usually wear in regular clothes! Some fit, some were too large and some were too small.. it all depended on the designer.

If the dress is the largest one they have.. ask the attendant to help you pin or clip it on to your undergarments so you can get an idea of how it will look.

Hang in there!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
