Who is paying for what?

Recommended Posts

Maybe its cheezy to say this, but its a once in a lifetime deal! And it will be so memorable-so worth it! I'm a student now too, so my income is very little. My fiance wants to do something special for the welcome dinner since most of our guest are spending so much money and to show our thanks. Thats why I'm eagerly reading that other thread about welcome dinner!

I would have loved to do a slideshow at the welcome dinner with pictures of memories of you with each guest, kind of an honor thing to them and make them feel special. The only reason I am not is because we have such a small group. Maybe you could do that and then frame one of the pics and present each person with the framed pic wrapped up or something. This would be very special and inexpensive.

We're paying our travel expenses and everything related to the wedding & reception. We aren't paying anything for our guests, we can barely afford the rest of it, lol! I would have loved to have done a villa and paid for our guests to stay there, but all the ones I looked at were sooooo expensive, we wouldn't have been able to afford it. So, whoever can afford to go, will go.

We are paying for the wedding and for my mom's hotel and ticket. I wish we could have paid for more , like the tux rentals etc., but we are barely able to pay for the ceremony and pictures and welcome bags. We are going to use the resort's traditional Friday night Seafood and Martini night for the wedding rehersal especially because it is free!!

We are paying for the wedding / reception, welcome dinner and our guests hotel stay at the Hilton for 3 nights. A lot of our guests are going to stay longer but they will be covering that cost. Our guest list consists of only family and there are going to be around 36 people total (including 8 kids.) We ended up needed 13 rooms for 3 nights each so that portion is eating up a large chuck of change approx $8000 - we got an awesome rate at the Hilton (thanks to booking earily and negotiation by my FI!) We think our guests will enjoy the trip and not really care too much about the flowers and cake type items so we are going low key with those...at least that is the plan for now! smile41.gif

My parents are giving us money and so we are using that to pay for our flights, theirs, my brothers and all of our rooms as well as ceremony etc. My FI parent's want to pay for their own room and flight and giving us a small amount of money to contribute to the wedding. We weren't originally planning on inviting anyone but our family so when our friends jumped on they are paying their own way. I am paying a bit of my maid of honors room so that I can stay there the night before the wedding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
