Mommies with kids in Daycare...I need help please

Hi Mommies (and Daddies)

I am putting together a proposal for a new account, a full service daycare.

Most of my clients would range from 2-5, with a few older kids in the afternoon. We will be serving 5 meals/snacks per day - breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, snack.

So far, all of the info I have gathered from the state and distributors rely very heavily on processed, packaged foods. I don't cook this way and HATE to start kids off with poor eating habits.

My questions are:

1) What do your kids like to eat?

2) What foods would you like to see provided for your child(ren)?

3) Will your child try new foods?

4) Is there anything in particular that you like or dislike about the food service program?

5) Do you pay attention to the menus sent home?

6) Do you ever have to supplement foods and send snacks with your child?

Thanks!

Hey Erin,

Maybe this will help. Alot of the daycares I have used for Noah have had pretty open food plans. They were all home based daycares though. I would def think about all the fruit and veggie options with yogurts, Dressings and such.. really dipper type foods, hot lunches for the kids 3 times a week... lots parents don't like when your kid has a sandwich everday for lunch when they are wee little ones. Finger foods are great all around. In general Noah likes to try new things as long as he can see what they are made of .. like say pigs in a blanket.. you say that to him and he needs to know what it is ... but with fun names... it works!

My 2 are in daycare and my provider does it out of her home. She used to provide lunch for the kids but a lot of the kids had allergies, couldn't eat certain things or just didn't like some things. It became a hassle so she changed up her policy and everybody has to bring their own lunch/snack. So to answer a few of your questions.......

1) What do your kids like to eat?

It may sound weird but my kids love fruits AND veggies. Green beans and broccoli are probably the least messy for little kids. Of course macaroni and cheese but I try not to let them eat too much of it. Nuggets of course but I buy all white meat. I switch up on the cold and hot foods. the same thing can get pretty boring.

2) What foods would you like to see provided for your child(ren)?

If it were mine providing the food I would like to see more veggies and fruits. Warm foods, not just cold cuts and chips.

3) Will your child try new foods?

My kids always try new things and sometimes it's all about presentation.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
