Anybody else with baby fine hair?

Recommended Posts

I have extremely baby monkey.gif fine stick straight hair and I am having problems finding hair styles for the wedding. I am going get my hair color in hope of getting to plump up some. My hair is very healthy and oily so that compounds the problem. I want to wear my hair up because it does not hold curl. But my FI wants my hair down. I would also like to wear my hair down because it is always up. My hair is almost to the middle of my back. I grow it out and cut it to donate my hair to Locks of Love, this will be my third time.

Anyone have any suggestions. I am going for a hair trial after the holidays so I am trying to get some ideas.

Thanks!

I am in the same boat! My hair is really fine but it has a bit of a wave (not a nice one though) and it goes frizzy really easily. I do have a lot of hair though so picture a lot of frizz when it's humid! When I was doing my master's degree I was in a lab so I wore my hair up EVERY day so FH also wants my hair down. I also want it down because I think that my ears stick out and I want to have them covered, lol, even though everyone else says they look fine.

I think that I'm going to try putting my hair half up (and trying to find a great anti-frizz formula) with a flower. I found a picture in a magazine of a model with hair that I want and I managed to find it online:

My hair also looses curl easily but I did something similar to this for my prom back in the day and whatever the stylist used kept my hair curly all night. Maybe see what your stylist says, sometimes they can work wonders! I also think that coloring your hair will help, I find that it always gives my hair more thickness and oomph!

I'm in the same boat! My hair is so fine that a half-up do has almost nothing in it, so the entire look doesn't always come across well. I love the look from that Jim Hjelm pic, but I don't know if it would last on me. I'm going to try finding a good stylist around here who can show me a couple nice styles, and then hopefully the person at the resort will be able to reconstruct them. I need to learn to use hair products too- I'm sure that would help!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
