Welcome Activities, any ideas?

Recommended Posts

We are having a very intimate wedding of about 10 people. The first night they get there I have a dinner planned but would like some kind of activities or ice breakers for that night. Anyone got any ideas?

We are at a private villa with pool and beach but no one else around.

Well, mine is in the Dominican and 2 of the guests are over 80, lol, so that may not work but that is a great idea for anyone doing one in Mexico, how fun!!!

LOL, no problem, most of the brides on here are getting married in Mexico, so easy mix up. I did a slide show for my STD and am doing one at the two AHR, so I don't think I will there.

How about a bonfire on the beach with smores? Even the 80-year old can have fun with this one too! maria Elena did this following her reception and it was a big hit!

bingo? (OK, I was still thinking about the 80-year olds but this could be fun!).

Salsa dancing lessons? Natasha did this at her wedding in Cabo but I'm sure they're salsa-ing in DR too!

Tequila (or other local favorite) tasting?

Cigar roller (I'm not crazy about this idea because I'm an ex-smoker but hey. you never know!)

Let us know what you decide! A sunsety cruise would also be fun, or a daytime snorkeling trip... games ont eh beach like volleyball, badminton, etc...

I was also going to suggest a "who knows the couple best" type of game.

Or, will there be many couples there? Maybe a Newlywed type game if you can get someone to be the host. Like you are the engaged couple, then a married couple, the either a dating couple or another married couple.

Rent a little karaoke machine?

Since you are in a private villa, how about just a pool type party?

Umm... I don't know what else!

You guys have great ideas... I love the idea of a scavenger hunt, and read somewhere else on here of doing it like a photo scav hunt... so I think I am going to do that maybe over a couple of days, but have to figure out how to get instant. Hopefully they will have digital cameras within the teams.

I really think I am going to use that Newlywed game too, lmao. We are all couples with two guys as the odd ones out. But, the funny thing is we tease them all the time that they are "a couple" because they are inseperable best friends. I think it would by hysterical to have them as a team because they would prob win, lol!

Thanks guys, keep them coming, I am love this!smile159.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
