Bad Reviews On Tripadvisor About Food Being Horrible At Paradisus And Paradisus Palma

Recommended Posts

Take trip advisor with a grain of salt... We went to St. Thomas and some of the reviews for our hotel were terrible and it ended up being phenomenal! A few people also complained about the food at Gran Bahia Principe in Riviera Maya where we are getting married, and when we went to visit, we were extremely satisfied. (And we are good food wackos, we go out to eat in NYC all the time). So don't believe everything you read. Some people will say a place is full of bugs if they see one bug, and they forget they are in a tropical climate! Duh! Don't worry, PS, my TA said Paradisus was amazing!

I am planning my wedding for Punta Cana, DR hopefully August 2010. I soo want to do it at the Paradisus Palma Real! But I haven't decided between PPC or PPR!! The pictures look amazing!!! I can't wait to start communicating with everyone! :) I have worries though... mostly about food.. My fiance and I have large families (150 total) and love to eat!! They eat all day!!! What should I do when they look up Paradisus on Trip Advisor and see the negative feedback?? I don't think they will want to go because Palma Real is not that cheap, they will want quality!! I'm confused!!! Please help!
Congrats! As far as food goes its pretty much what the others have said. I have been to many all inclusives in the Caribbean and South America and the food is generally good. I have never stayed at the PPC or PPR but my cousin stayed at the PPR and she said it was great. Tell your guests that they cannot go by what people say on those websites, inreality the resorts are never going to please everybody and if people are picky eaters they can go ant eat Hamburgers and Hot Dogs.

I am currently researching PCC vs. Majestic colonial. Having been to punta cana before...yeah the food isn't to die for but its just fine. Don't expect fine dining and american food that tastes american. The DR is quite 3rd world. (our bus driver threw rocks at the begging kids hanging on the bus) I have also had equal tasting food in the bahamas X2 different resorts and 2 other carribean spots. I have had excellent food on my two mexico vacations. But, Punta cana has palm trees on the beach....Hello wedding spot... PLUS!!!!! I met my fiance in punta cana 3 years ago on vacation with my sister. I was lucky to be a travel nurse at the time. We closed the 10 hour driving gap slowly and are now excited to bring it all back to where we met..except a different resort.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
