Bad Reviews On Tripadvisor About Food Being Horrible At Paradisus And Paradisus Palma

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone i was reacently reading reviews about both the Paradisus and the Paradasius Palma Real on Tripadvisor and came across quite a few saying the food was maybe a 2 or 3 star. I am really concerned because I am 90% sure i wanna have my wedding at either one of these resorts. Also neither was rated in top 5 for Resorts in Punta Cana. Now im leaning towards the Magestic Colonial which had a very good rating 3 i think and has alot of good reviews and also good Destination wedding reviews. Anyone who has been to Paradisus or Palma Real have have any input on the food quality and overall rating of these resort? Please any feedback will be very helpful!!fencing.gif

I haven't been to either location, but you do need to keep in mind that ANY review is going to be totally subjective. People tend to be more vocal about negatives than they are about positives.

I would suggest doing a search for those resorts or simply browse the Dominican Repubic sub-forums to read what past and present brides have found.

Good luck!

Tripadvisior always has up and down reviews... sometimes you will go on and nothing seems wrong at all, and the a month later everyone hates it! I ran into this problem and some are just silly in the reviews that are left. Take it with a grain of salt. You love these 2 places righthuh.gif Then it's just on choosing now which one. A bunch of girls are getting married or have gotten married at these places. Listen to girls on here... no one wants to steer you in a wrong direction because we are all after the same thing.... to become Mrs!!!

I saw some of those bad reviews about the Palma real and i'm ignoring it. I would see 3 great reviews and than a bad one, than 2 good ones and than a bad one. I think if you see bad review after bad review than you should be worried. Also keep in mind that those resorts arent at the top of the most popular resorts in DR on trip advisor because they are newer and have less reviews than older resorts.

I'm leaving on Nov 1st for the Palma real and i'd be happy to tell you what i thought of the resort and the food when i get back.

I would not consider the Majestic a wedding factory. I've had some very happy brides return from that resort. As well as several other resorts on the island outside of the Paradisus.

One thing I advise ALL of my clients about with DR (and Punta Cana specifically) is that it is NOT a "gourmet...foodie" destination. The food everywhere is OK. It's not bad, it's not great. You may like some places more than others, even within the same resort. Don't go down there with unrealistic expectations and you won't be disappointed. Outside of my wedding groups I've personally sent tons of clients to Paradisus over the years and some disliked the food and others didn't mention it. It wasn't good or bad. It's a common complaint you're going to hear about every resort at one time or another. Don't stress over it. :)

We work regularly one couple days every month in Paradisus and never, I or some of our equipment has complained about foods or has become ill. Business is business and truth is truth.

We tasted the foods over there most of any body and like some one said: isn´t gourmet destination. May somebody made review about some details but the food is OK.

OMG I was obsessed with reading trip advisor before we went on our weddingmoon but when I got down there realized 2 things:

1. There is no pleasing some people. People were complaining about tiles missing in the pool, the staff didn't speak perfect english, the food was too "ethnic" blah blah blah. Like grow the F up and enjoy your vacation in a 3rd frickin world people. If you want a 5 star gloved service stay in the states or whatever.

2. The only opinion that matters about a hotel is yours... your own experience. To hell with what anyone else thinks.

:) Happy trip :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
