Donkey guest book

Recommended Posts

Oh No, if we don't get a donkey I don't get a wedding! Hahahaha!

Yeah, if he could have it, steve would have us riding in on a donkey, ha! No way!

Its not so much that steve has a thing for donkeys, its really any animal that he can ride, he rode a camel in egypt, he wants to ride a donkey in mexico, he'd ride an elephant in africa. But since we decided on mexico, donkeys are his current obsession and he loves to pronounce it like shrek does.

Brett's thing is for donkeys only. We went to a random vineyard in Oregon once and it had some goats and a miniture donkey in the back. He got to feed it and I've never seen him so excited. Not normal.

Also - I just made a sign for the donkey table that says "Who needs a guest book? Sign a fiesta donkey!" I have to say that when I was a little girl I never imagined that as a part of my wedding.

Paul and I just came up with an idea ... what about that song "Let me ride that donkey, donkey ... lemme ride that donkey donkey ..." as your theme song. Or at least playing when they first see the guest book.

... now we're both stuck with that song in our heads!

not to hijack this thread, but Kate I have a question for you.

Your FI got the heritage linen suit from banana republic, right? How is the color of it? I really wanted tan, but I'm having trouble finding something FI likes. Also, do you think the material has any sort of sheen to it? I ordered the suit from jcrew and FI didn't like it because it seemed shiny. So before I go and order another one, I want to make sure he's not going to hate it! Any advice would be appreicated!

I didn't get the linen one - we got the cotton suit. The color of the cotton suit is nice. Pretty normal tan/khaki. There is no sheen to it at all. Brett said it is comfortable and he isn't a suit guy at all.

  • 2 weeks later...

So, the donkeys arrived today. They are super funny. They have really long bodies (to fit the messages I guess) so they remind me of weiner-dogs. Brett was so excited. He doesn't even want to take them out of their plastic bags so they don't get messed up. That's why I can't take a pic. They look just like they do on the website though.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
