After our TTD (we started at 8 am the day after the wedding) I used an outdoor shower and rinsed off, and then I simply hung it up in our room until we left two days later. It was still a bit damp so hanging it outside probably would have been a better option, but I was afraid it might get stained from the balcony or the one above us??

Anyways, I just folded it nicely into a plastic bag and I put it in my then-empty (was OOT bag suitcase) suitcase for the ride home. Once I got home I took it to the dry cleaners.

Funny story... my friend just got married and she took her dress to the same place I did. She mentioned my wedding and that I did a trash the dress in the ocean... THE CLEANING PEOPLE KNEW ME! Ha! this is 6 months AFTER my wedding and they still remembered my wedding dress because it was SO full of sand and they had to shut down and clean their machines... twice!! WHOOPS!

Or is it just a common thing maybe to wear something other than your wedding dress at the reception ?

I'm curious.
I have our session scheduled for the morning after (Saturday). I plan to wear my dress for the entire ceremony and reception, but not for the ttd session. Hopefully I can find a cheap dress($99 and under), that I can wear for the pics.

if I change after the wedding it would be into a sundress, but something sexy! HTH!

I did one set of pics in the pool first so there was no sand. I then went down to the beach for ocean pics.

I rinsed off at the outdoor shower, then like Rebbecca I showered with eh dress on then peeled it off. The amount of sand was a little ridiculous! I hung it on the balcony and it was dry that night.

My seamstress said that as long as your dress isn't heavily beaded or lacy, you can put it through the regular wash on gentle in cold water and hang to dry it will be fine. CHECK THE FABRIC FIRST!

I can second that my dress was much cleaner after being in the ocean than it was after the 15 minute wedding!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
