Which Palace Resort is best to have our wedding??

Recommended Posts

Personally for me, my resort pick is going to change many many times I am guessing, unless the Barcelo has everything I want and the price is ideal, etc. We originally wanted to get married at a Riu, nothing else.. then we became a little more open and we were leaning toward Dreams, and then we were looking at other resorts like the paradisus, etc. And now we're on the Barcelo, which isn't set in stone, it could change any time. So if you're like me, you'll be sending out many websites to your guests with new resorts or new prices. I think as long as the guests know the time of year you're planning on going and an estimate of cost, they'll be able to save up until next year when you're able to book for sure and tell them this is the ONE! It's not going to change! (well... we hope). And they can book and everything too. I wouldn't worry too much about your guests. Maybe give them a list of your top 3-5 resorts or something and they can go online and look at the resorts, which will make them excited too. And then once you narrow it down you can tell them which one it'll be.

It's exciting to research resorts and look at peoples pictures who have had weddings there before, and really decide which one you LOVE!!! I used to want to decide the resort right away, and I would say, "that's the one!" and then when I saw something I didn't like about it, I'd get dissapointed because I got my hopes up. My mom was the one who actually talked to me and said, "What's the rush? You should be enjoying this part and pick the one you know is going to be perfect. Take your time"

Although I still want to book really bad!!! haha.

We are getting married at the Aventura Spa Palace. We originally chose it because it was an adults only...but I just found out that they are going to allow children in half of the resort in May of 2009 (and half will still be adults only...I hope!)

Just something to look into...it is close to Playacar Palace (I think 20 minutes?) and you can take their shuttle there for free...just another one of the Palace chain to look into...we thought the Palace prices were reasonable compared to others...

Good luck!

Hi Brides!!

I have been to Moon Palace twice. Once for vaca and once for a wedding. It is beautiful!!Bugambilias and La Gondola has awesome food. The hotel photographer takes very good pictures too. There are 2 sections to the hotel the older which I think is called sunrise and the newer sections. Both sections are nice, however the sunrise (older section) is closer to the beach and has better views. The newer section is farther away and the views aren't as nice but I thought the resturants were better. Either way, it is a great place to have a wedding!

The Moon Palace was nice when we were there several years ago. The wedding couple we were there for were happy with how they were treated. The wedding was nice, and they have many places where weddings can be performed. The food was typical for an all inclusive. The resort is HUGE though, so if you want something intimate for your guests, maybe checkout a smaller place. The resort didn't seem to try and keep wedding guests close to one another, so there were people scattered all over the place in their rooms.

We got married at Aventura Spa Palace and it was absolutely fabulous - the best day of my life!

We have visited Aventura, Moon, Playacar, Beach and Sun Palace and Aventura is definitely our favourite which is why we picked it for our wedding.

We were there on our own but were very well looked after by the Wedding staff and any other staff who found out we were getting married - the maid even left me a little good luck card on the morning of the ceremony!!

I have to say though I am a bit disappointed to read that they may be letting children into the resort - not that I have anything against children - but I feel the atmosphere of the hotel will be ruined - it much more suits being adult only and is one of the reasons we have visited it 3 times.

In my opinion then, ASP is definitely the choice for weddings!! cheesy.gif

I think we are going to go with Playacar Palace. It seems to have everything we want - walking distance to nice town outside of resort, can take ferry to Cozumel Palace, not too big, allows kids, modern/contemporary. My only concern though is that it seems like not many people get married here and I cannot figure how why!?!?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
