CarePacks for U.S. Soldiers!

Whether we agree or disagree with the actual war, I know that most of us agree that we need to be supportive and take care of the brave men and women who give their time and service to our military.

 

DH and I are going to orgazine a CarePacks drive through his church or office to send packages over Iraq and Afghanistan.

 

I just wanted to share this link in case anyone else wanted to do a drive in their neighborhood, office, church, family, etc.

It means the world to these guys over seas. I know we send our friends care packs - it's the simple things they can't get from home whether it be beef jerkey or booze in a listerine bottle (SHH! I didn't say that). Even photos from home and a card give these guys and gals a smile that they deserve and support they need.

Great post Alyssa, especially in time for the holidays, when it is very hard for those serving us to be away from home.

 

I have used this organization in the past:

AnySoldier.com

 

It has the names of service men and women, great info on what to send, list of allowable items, etc. They also have links to all organizations and companies that will match your donation.

 

I agree, that no matter what you stance on the war, those that are fighting deserve our respect and support.

Thats Awesome!!!! My brother is overseas and they received a care package from a retirement community in CA and it meant so much to those guys! I think its a wonderful thing. Thanks for posting this and bringing to light the importance of supporting our troops. Its not about how you feel about the war its supporting the people who were sent over there!

Unfortunatley it doesn't happen so much over here. Our troops get shit recognition and crap treatment and equipment. So thanks for doing that it means a lot.

 

You could also check out Help for Heroes - A charity for the wounded in Britain?s current conflicts that is also a really good site.
