What to do the day before wedding?

Recommended Posts

Our wedding is on a Saturday. I want to plan a group trip to Dunn's River Falls for either Thursday or Friday. Is there any reason we shouldn't leave the resort the day before our wedding? What did other brides do on their day before?

Hmmm, the day before the wedding was a Thursday & we pretty much just hung out at the resort but thats mainly because that was the day that most of our guests arrived to Jamaica. They got acquainted with the resort that day & we had our welcome dinner that night.

Our wedding was on a Friday & we did Dunn's River the day after the wedding, on Saturday.

I'm not sure I'd suggest doing DR the day before the wedding because many of my guests talked about how sore they were the next day & how it was such a workout! A group of the guys even woke up early the day after & went to the hot tub to ease their achy legs. I don't think you want sore, achy guests on the day of the wedding.

What you do on that day I think all depends on how many days your guests are going to be there. If you don't want to do DR the day after the wedding then I'd definitely do it on Thursday as opposed to Friday.

I agree with avoiding DR the day before. You can get really sore and personally I just don't want to hurt myself lol

We are planning on doing a little rehearsal amongst ourselves and dinner. I think chilling out is a good idea...I know I will be a nervous wreck so I'll need it!

What about a cruise? I was in touch with Lee's Tours about doing a 2 hour cruise...$75 a head though wink.gif

Will probably just be an ordinary day at the resort for me. Some pool and bars drinks, hanging out with friends and fam.

My plan is to watch a couple weddings during the week (we arrive on a sat and wedding is on thurs so should be easy ) before my wedding so I know what goes on :).

I would avoid the falls on Wed., Thurs., and Friday, as these are the cruise ship days when it is packed. I had a friend who was married at ROR and the day following the wedding, everyone hiked the falls. Unfortunately, the groom's mother fell at the top step and broke her collarbone. I personally wouldn't take any chances before the wedding!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
