The issue of our rings has been up in the air for what feels like forever.  We made the rounds to all of the jewellry stores in town...found nothing that knocked my socks off.  I have never been a ring-wearer...my job in health care...in the inner city...the constant hand washing...not conducive to a big flashy ring.  The only thing I knew I LOVED was full/round bezel diamond settings.  I found this cocktail ring on the Birks website, but when I went into the store I found out they weren't making it anymore.  I liked that it was a wider ring...my stubby fingers just didn't look great with a thin dainty ring.

My hairdresser has a friend who she highly recommended we have do a custom order for us.  We met with this fellow...he said "ok, we'll probably have it done in 6 weeks".  I said, "Sooooo, do I get to try it as a wax mold or anything like that?"  He said, "No, it'll be great!"

I'm not gonna lie...I hadn't even seen what this ring looked like on my finger, and I was in a state of panic when we went to pick our rings up this week...praying it would be ok.  Well, I couldn't be happier with our rings...here they are!!!  One more thing crossed off the list!

Congratulations!

I love your ring, it looks similar to mine! My guy picked the ring himself as well. I wouldn't have thought that I'd be too confident about my boyfriend choosing the ring himself, but they tend to do pretty well

And what a nice engagement story!
Happy planning

I thought he did a wonderful job, and I can't wait to marry my prince charming. Here is a picture of my beautiful ring that he picked out all by himself! I can't quit looking at it. :)

MJKH I love your ring, it turned out so well, just like your inspiration ring! I totally know what you mean about working in health care and not wanting a big ring. My FI bought me a beautiful brilliant cut solitaire in a cathedral setting, but I can't wear it to work! So I have only wore it about 10 times since we got engaged in May, and this really upsets him :( I'm planning on getting an eternity band and wearing that to work, but honestly that thought of the bacteria from a hospital that we can carry on our rings freaks me out!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
