So many beautiful rings in this thread....I think any guy that is contemplating asking his girlfriend to marry him should be instructed to check out this thread, it would give him more than enough ideas.

Below is my engagement ring. It is a white gold band with a morganite center stone in a chushion cut with diamonds surrounding it.

My fiance and I have been together for 7 years and we have a 2 year old daughter named Morgan. When he was getting ready to propose last Thanksgiving, he was trying to come up with something to make it special and meaningful to us. He found this stone called Morganite, which is a stone named after JP Morgan that runs from a light pink to a peach color. He found this one, which is more of an old fashioned setting, and it is perfect.

He then had another idea for the wedding band (which I don't have a picture of yet). I have a 9 year old son from a previous relationship who has always known my fiance as one of his "dads", so he wanted to incorporate that into the rings somehow as well. Well, lo and behold, there is actually a stone called an Alexandrite (my son's name is Alexander), which changes color from a jade green to a deep purple depending on the lighting. So we had my wedding band made in white gold with Alexandrite stones in the front.

I was AMAZED that he actually spent that much time thinking about the rings, and he came up with a perfect way to incorporate "officially" becoming a family. My son is psyched because he loves the idea of a stone being named after him (LOL). And we have already decided that when we have more kids we will get eternity rings made with stones that represent them as well, just to keep the tradition going.

This is my ring its an ascher cut-- the band (which wasn't polished for the picture) is actually my great grandmothers that she wore for 67 years until she died in 1998 and I am so honored that my mom is letting me wear it for my wedding band.

My fiance and I bought my wedding ring knowing we were using the band!!

Here's mine!

It's a bit far away and blurry but it's the best picture I could take with a camera phone. I don't know how you all are getting such clear pictures, every time I try to take a pic, it gets blurry or reflects too much(though I guess I can hardly complain that it's too sparklycheesy.gif)

What I'm thinking for a band is maybe just a plain thin white gold band, because the sides of my ring are kinda intricate. Or maybe something like this...

Plus I love Na Hoku that sells this, unfortunately there is no stores in AZ, the closest ones are in California so I can't go try some on with my engagement ringsad.gif

  • 2 weeks later...

Lots of gorgeous rings ladies!!!! I thought I'd share mine too. I had actually seen this ring shortly before I even met my FI. A friend invited me to a cocktail party that a major jeweler was hosting to introduce new designs and I saw this ring but a slightly smaller ct. on center stone and I fell in love with it, I even told my girl friend that I'd marry her if she gave me that ring!! jk of course. I was very far from thinking about remarrying (this is my 2nd, and last) but I couldn't take it off, I think I wore it for about 30 minutes, and they let me cheesy.gif....Jump about 3 months later, my FI and I had only been dating a couple of months and were talking marriage and I jokingly mentioned to him about his ring....he surprised me with my "dream" ring and proposed at the resort where we're getting married.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
