Cheap shopping in San Diego for beachy clothes?

I'm wondering if you SoCal ladies can point me in the direction of cheap shopping in San Diego. I'm going there in a week for work and want to find some CUTE, inexpensive, beachy clothes for myself and my FI for mexico. Any recommendations? I'm staying in the gaslamp district and do not have a car but could take a cab (or public transportation if its decent).

Hey Samantha - as far as downtown - try Pink Zone in the gaslamp - its really inexpensive and has a lot of cute cotton dresses - It's on 5th between J and Island. If you don't mind cabbing it - you will find a lot of stuff in Pacific Beach on Garnet. PB is a bit of a hike though - and our public transportation is not the best - but there are a lot of great cheap beachy boutiques there!

As far as your FI - hmmm I might try the mall downtown? - it is pretty big - if not you can take the trolley to Fashion Valley mall from downtown - that one is one of my favorites and will have lots of stores for both of you.
