Yep, Ilka is coming in the day before to do the makeup trial (friday) and I think she said she will crash at her sister's *katia monforte which also does makeup/hair and than return again the next day for the wedding makeup... Katia is located out of cancun so she probably lives in the area which worked out good for Ilka and me... I just have to pay for her bus ride out to Riviera Maya on friday and than her taxi to the hotel on Saturday.

I have to give a HUGE shout-out to the hair and make-up artist that I used for my wedding, Sergio from Yazmin Gonzalez. He was the best find!!!! I even had paid for a trial run the day I flew in- it was completely not needed but helped my piece of mind. I believe that for the trial run plus the day of the wedding it was 330 total. He came to the hotel for both days, took so much time to make sure it was exactly what I wanted and the day of the wedding everyone RAVED about how fabulous my hair and make-up turned out. If you have any questions please let me know...but thumbs up all around for Sergio.

haha your too cute! Glad I can help, I wish this stuff was around when I was doing all the reaserch it would of saved me a headache or 3!

Hmmm, good question... After contacting Mac store in Playa del Carmen and another company that does it (forget their name) and wanting to know of just some specific artists I reached out to my contacts and the internet! Well Alexandro was my first refrence given to me through my photographer (claudia rodriguez) so if he could of done it the search would of ended there but he (himself) was not available that date so he said to wait like a month before and he would find me an artist to service my needs (since they can't plan anything 6mnths before) so that was ify to me (why couldn't he get me an artist at his shop 6mnths before and he replied because his artists change jobs and bookings frequently) so I didn't like that... So like I said if Alexandro himself could of done it my search would of ended! but he couldn't so I reached out to the internet and a blog on here recommended katia monforte and some others (so I sent a mass email)! After no luck with the mass email a month after I sent it - I finally got a broken english email from katia telling me her sister would be our translator (Ilka). Well, once me and ilka got to talkiing I prefered her over her sister (just because she spoke english and her credientails were crazy good and she sent me refrences from past brides she did and they raved about her - one especially that was a former ms. usa beauty queen so that sold me if a 'picky' beauty queen loved her makeup i know i would since i like a bit of the dramatic makeup and perfection LOL)! Now if I contacted both and both artist were avialable I would of went off price (surely alexandro has to be cheaper since he is in the area)! So that's it in a small novel :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
