Attention Playa Fiesta Brides! Invitations

Recommended Posts

Hi Girls,

I am working on my invitations right now, and I'm looking for some advice. My invite designer wants to list events on the back of the RSVP card. Did any of you do this? I know the guests staying at PF will obviously be there for the Welcome Dinner, Rehearsal Dinner, Brunch etc. I will also have guests who will be staying elsewhere and I would like to know when they will be arriving and what dinners they will be attending. However, they will also need to purchase these items items on their own. We paid for the D&E package #1 for the PF guests, but we aren't paying for it for people staying elsewhere. Please let me know how you handled this.

Thanks!!!feedback.gif

hmmm....not quite sure how to handle that. I didn't list events on the RSVP card, but I did on our website (which is how most guests RSVP'ed). I was also clear that there was a fee for "off-site guests" to attend stuff at PF - like the regular day pass fee. I wonder if you could just include the price of the dinners in your day pass fee for those off-site? I think most ppl understand that there is a day pass required to participate in events at a resort you're not staying at. I'm not quite sure, since all my guests are staying at PF. Why don't you ask Lindsay - she'll have had lots of brides who've been in the same position and will likely have some better ideas for you!! Good luck.

Thanks! I wish all of my guests were staying at PF too. It would make things so much more simple. My friends have been totally on the ball about booking, but my fiance's friends- not so much.

Hey! At least half of your guests are taking initiative... I wish I had that, ha!

If you put the events on the invite, it doesn't give much room to change your mind... and things change all of the time. My suggestion is to leave it off the invite, and put it on your website. Put that info in your itinerary/ welcome baskets... mail it to those staying offsite.

Lindsay is having Michelle Turner take new pics of PF, so I might just use a pic on the RSVP instead of listing events.

We have people that think they will save money by staying at another hotel, but once you add in the day passes and taxi fare, I think it's a wash. Now to just get them to realize that...! I just realized you two (Kate & kleslie) are both getting married in Jan. How exciting!

Good thinking!

I am having the same problem with guests. It doesnt help that they can go to hotwire and see package deals to PV. So far we have one couple staying offsite in a timeshare... and convinced the others to stay with us.

We are still going to have a couple of free rooms unfortunately. But I am so excited to be married at PF!

I am getting married Jan 23 and the other Kate (kleslie) is 2 weeks later in Feb!

It is getting close!

Did you do a full takeover? We only reserved 20 rooms and we have 16 booked so far, so I guess that is pretty good. I just feel bad for my FI because they are all my friends! I have a friend possibly staying in a condo as well, but she has 8 weddings to go to next year, so I'm just happy she's even coming to mine. You are totally right about hotwire & other travel sights... They make it hard, but I am also so excited to be getting married at PF. Lindsay is awesome and I can't even imagine what some of the other girls go through when they can't get a hold of their WC. I feel so well taken care of at PF!

I'll send you both the pics and keep you posted! I'm glad I found you on this forum. Kate from Minnesota- I hope your rooms fill up. There's still time! I have no idea how the anniversay weeks work, but maybe we will find ourselves at PF together in 2010!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
