Hello All! My name is Kayleena.

I have been engaged since December. We've always known we want to have a destination wedding. But! I'm going crazy trying to find a great destination that fits our expectations... its so hard to find what fits. We want to get married on the beach at an all inclusive resort... but doesnt feel like a resort. More like huts on the beach but accomodates to about 50 people including children and of course not too expensive. Its tough, we thought Hawaii, then Caribbean then Mexico then Belize.... ugh! im getting stressed out when i promised i wouldnt!

You are NOT alone!!!! You have found the perfect site!!! We have alot in common... I, too was engaged in December, like you... we both knew it had to be a destination wedding at a hotel that would be small, yet not too expensive, all-inclusine (because we figured it would make everyones life easier) and allow children because we want our nieces and nephews and my fiance's god-son to be there. We have yet to choose our place but are doing so in April when we go down to scout for a weekend. We have narrowed our hotels from 23 down to 7!!!!!!! Look into Dreams Tulum ( find Jason and ask him... he is getting married there), and Azul Beach.

Don't fret, the girls on here are soooooo helpful!

A bunch of us here are marrying at Las Caletas (P.V. Mexico). It's not a resort, but it is a private island-like beach and it honestly is not too expensive. Maybe you could find a intimate family-friendly resort then have the actual ceremony at Las Caletas. It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere (no roads, very quiet).

I'm sure there is a resort out there that fits your needs so don't stress yet, wait until your guests lag on their reservations . . . now that's stress!!

Welcome, another option for you would be Cabo Surf resort, Janet and Christa were married there. In fact Christa just posted a review on it and Janet has many pics of the resort from her wedding. It's a very small resort, perfect if you have family and friends who like to surf or would be interested in trying it.

Welcome! Do not stress we will help you find the perfect place. I would recommend Mexico to you only b/c there are so many options. One thing you can look into doing is staying with your guests at an all-inclusive resort and then having your wedding in a different locale. A lot of girls are staying at all-inclusives in puerto vallarta and then having their wedding at las caletas which is very private and intimate. Another option as Tammy stated is the cabo surf hotel. It is a smaller resort and sounds like it fits what you are looking for. My last option is renting a private villa. There are some that are all-inclusive. I know someone posted (I can't remember who off the top of my head right now) some info about all-inclusive villas in costa rica. I know Belize also has private beaches but I am told that Belize is very expensive so you may not want to go that route. Let us know how we can help.

I am also getting married at Dreams Tulum, people always forget.

But I don't think Dreams is what you're looking for.

Maybe something like Azul Blue? (but it will be way expensive).

There's also a private island in Belize that looks awesome, little huts and they'll make it all inclusive for you if you want. www.cocoplumcay.com. that might be more up your alley.

Hope this helps!

Welcome! I would also say stick with Mexico, and since you are on the east cost, I think Riviera Maya will be more affordable, but I could be quite wrong. Sadly, my thinking cap is NOT on yet this morning so I don't have any brilliant resort ideas.

Welcome, Kayleena! I'm another Las Caletas bride - so if that sounds like something you're interested in, just let us know and we'll give you more info than you could ever ask for (here's their website Puerto Vallarta Wedding Planner for Mexico Destination Weddings)! Unlike you, I didn't want to get married at a resort - I liked the idea of the ceremony being private. But that's the great part about a DW - you can tailor it to what you want. Don't stress - we'll help you find the perfect place - it's out there!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
