It all depends. Some places offer free wedding packages, some do not. It depends where you are, how many of you there are, and what you want. I would do some research for sure.

I was in for a big surprise when I actually sat down and plugged all my numbers into the budget calculator.  It's a scary number!

If I tell my FH anything about that number I am sure this would be us, me being the one getting hit. fryingpan.gif

Be wary of this option though because when we added up all the individual necessities they cost more than the package! Whoever they hired to build the packages knew what he/she was doing because at our resort were not allowed to trade or swap things out at all. I would recommend doing the math before just taking the free package.

Yeah, ever since I found the photographer I want, I started getting concerned about cost. Ultimately, I don't want to sacrifice the photos. I make scrapbooks and am a bit of an amateur photographer myself. So we'll make it work. We are making payments through the travel agent website on our trip. If I do OOT and other stuff like that, it'll be kinda spread out. I will have a pretty nice bonus in February, so that'll go to the final payments. My FI makes a good living, but I just wanted it to come back a bit less.

25K is easy to get to, but it's all about sacrifices if you plan to stay under... Resort costs and Airfare are what they are, but OOT bags and Invitations can vary greatly in cost.If you're smart about it (combined with deciding what you're willing to give up) you can get great deals and keep it reasonable.I was able to do our wedding for 10K but that doesn't include our honeymoon costs - since were going to Europe for two weeks I know that will be expensive as well but were putting it off for 6mos due to work.  Photography is a big part of your budget - but that might be more important to you. In the end people is a great way to cut costs - our extra cost per person was a whopping $130 - luckily we only have 2-4 extra people so just keep in mind if you have 20 people coming at roughly 100 a piece that can tack on a lot to your budget.

I think I am going with a nice small gift for my guests instead of the OOT bags. They really sound expensive!

They don't necessarily have to be - I did a survival kit type thing as a "welcome gift" and then  wine stoppers as favors and I spent $150 total for 24 kits & 24 stoppers .... a mix of DIY (did the toppers of my survival kits myself) & shopping around. A small gift would be just as sweet and I am sure your guests will appreciate it : )

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
